  1. Damn, you’re getting there. Did you get through the CARB inspection (or whatever it’s called down there)? I just got an 89’ S13 Hatch to start on. So I’m right there with you.
  2. As much as I enjoy disagreeing with you buddy, you’re totally right. This one has had “minor damage” to both rear quarters. I knew this going in, and since I’ve always wanted to wide body one. I had a chance to buy a very clean, nearly perfect red 1991 240SX. As my “dream build” was a wide body, I passed. I wouldn’t feel right doing that to a pristine example. Had I not bought this, she’d have just rusted away here. At least with me she’ll be a fully operational garage trophy and cruiser.
  3. there’s a few missing interior pieces missing, but such is life. Besides, I totally don’t care. Since the body is rough I’ll be doing more a drift car inspired build. I have too many head injuries to go back to drifting at 41. Yep, ideally I can rebuild it to pass state title inspection and then swap the KA24E into my 620 with the auto. I know, it’s not “cool” but I was shot in the leg a few years ago and I have some bad left leg days. Ideally I’ll find a decent KA24DE to turbo and put a manual in here. Thanks! Ok, now to today’s update. over the last 17 years the ground has shifted and a ton of sand settled around it. So… I had to dig her out. I’ve pulled the tires/wheels to get new rubber on her to be able to load her up once I secure a trailer. Long and emotional day between me and the now previous owner. Lotta history here and I hope to make them proud.
  4. Look, I’d LOVE to say this is the “cherry” S13 I wanted. However, this is not the case. This “barnyard find” outta the dry side of the Evergreen State. I’ve been working on the process of this mess since Nov 21’ and I honestly have trouble sorting through it all. I’m going to leave all of the strange circumstances off the board, but many drinks were had. this is what I got. Like I said, she’s in rough shape.
  5. That’s why I’d be interested to see if anyone has experience with a specific rebuild kit. eBay can be very hit/miss.
  6. I’m interested in this topic as well, do any of you have an online parts source for KA24E rebuild kits?
  7. First, the car looks super rad. Your body work is really great. I have a question though, what did you do to address the rust inside the door? Did you coat it with a rust covering product before paint?
  8. Pardon the lengthy response time. This vehicle was a freaking mess to finish straightening out the title. I still haven’t gotten it to my place yet. I now have to get the stock engine in the S13 running to pass my county vin inspection. I’m going to see if I can convert the pistons because the head has been pulled off the block. AFTER it’s running I’ll see if I can put this in the 620. Ironically the car came with a tremendous amount of Nissan/Datsun parts. Random bits from S14’s, S13’s 5 sp from a D21, tail lights from a Datsun 1600… and others. I’ll PM you when I’m in the parts collection phase next week.
  9. I’m not great at the image resize stuff, so pardon the double post. Tires Falken Ziex ZE950 All-Season Radial Tire - 205/60R15 91H
  10. I’ve got a 74’ as well and I’m running AR wheels. In this picture below I have a 3” rear drop with the front at stock height for testing purposes. Truck is in storage now, so I’ll be pulling it out after I get my house finished. I have a d21 front disc brake swap for it, but I haven’t installed it yet.
  11. Thank you! I’ll check the nuts when I get into it, I think most of them are salvageable. I may swap them all to get a completely new system in there just in case.
  12. I’m happy to read anything you other smart asses post, but I’ve been looking for the last couple weeks to find the brake line size for the 620. i believe it’s 1/4” line. But… I’ve had a lotta head injuries and I’m routinely wrong. (Ask my dog). If you could help me out on this I’d appreciate it. I need to redo my hard lines and soft lines to redo my entire system. I’m bone dry right now and I don’t like taking chances.
  13. Nope, that’s a Beretta 1301. Works like clockwork.
  14. Waaaay back then, in the Dark Ages, we had such rules, as established by the Washington State Supreme Court. However, these rules have changed, after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decided the State deserved more power. I’ve forgotten the case law ruling on this. It’s utterly different now. Since the unprecedented expansion of the Secuirty State, aerial units now just require “Probable Cause” to go into the air. Typically it’s a pursuit, search for a suspect, or a “training flight” and anything observed is now considered “in Plain View”. The officer/aerial patrol is considered “legally obligated” under the BLEA training standards to report illegal activities. This is also the “duty” of airline and licensed pilots per the last copy of the Pilots Licensing Handbook I have a copy of, circa 2010 from the FAA. I also maintain a maximum height fence on all reasonable portions of my property. Again, in my opinion, it’s none of The State’s business what legal activities I decide to ration my time to. Out of public view, I maintain my reasonable expectation of privacy against voyeurs.
  15. We’re having a bit of a communication barrier because I didn’t fully explain my position. I’ll do a better job of it in this post. The drones used by US military use a variety of detection methods, such as radar and LiDAR which give the observer an “image” of what is going on inside a building out of “plain view”. These methods hadn’t been ruled on to create case law basis. Just as wiretapping case law has changed over the development of the telephone, until the current state which allows NSA to monitor any call for terrorist activity using metadata and internet data collection. This has been challenged in court as a violation of the fourth amendment as a possible violation of the “houses, papers, and effects”. As no “oath or affirmation” has been submitted. This is allowed due to the case law on exigencies which permit the government to operate without a warrant in specific instances. I’ve included the entire fourth amendment below in case someone else is following this. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.“ The Patriot Act enhancement I’m referring to is (H.B. 2048) commonly referred to as USA Freedom Act 2015 & 2020. As I’m sure you’re all aware after the Snowden Disclosure of NSA’s interpretation of its authorized powers under the Patriot Act it was allowed to expire on 1 June 2015 and replaced by the Freedom Act on 2 June 2015. The Freedom Act establishes the justification for “roving wire taps” and drone surveillance with intrusive scanning technologies. It also permits the collection of metadata, drone surveillance with intrusive scanning technologies which give the state the ability to go beyond “plain view”. I’ve included a screenshot of the DOJ’s Plain View definition. I believe this is what you’re referring to with your comments about law enforcement being able to raid grow operations with a warrant. In my jurisdiction “Peeping Tom” does not have the right to look through your windows. I’ve included the Revised Code of Washington for this. Technically speaking, if someone is in a portion of their home with “a reasonable expectation of privacy” no one should be allowed to view them through any “intrusive means”. The lack of clearly defined values for what is/isn’t Plain View has been often taken advantage of by law enforcement for the benefit of the state. In my opinion, as a retired cop, the Reasonable Expectation of Privacy begins at your threshold. Obviously I don’t make policy. My personal interpretation of the 4th Amendment is that by being “…secure in their … houses..” the Law is clear, I can’t go in without a warrant or exigency. I hope this clears things up.
  16. It is used here. There’s a book that covers some of the things the security state is using it for called “First Platoon” by Annie Jacobsen if you’re interested. We also got to see some of the drone footage the FBI took in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. Again drone surveillance footage was used to identify the drug dealers who sold the actor Michael K. Williams fentanyl that he used to OD. Initially the drones were found to violate the Fourth Amendment, but now with the “new an improved” Patriot Act, you no longer have a Right to Privacy. There’s always more bad guys than good guys. For instance there was an estimated population of 90,000 in that city. The Department of Corrections released documentation on 2,000 known criminal gang members. We had about 120 Sworn Officers total to deal with them. Our shift minimum was 4 on patrol with a Sgt, so you’re outnumbered 500:1. Each officer have to kill more than one to even really make a dent. This isn’t counting all of your unaffiliated criminals, your run of the mill rapists, murderers, abusers, thieves, and miscreants. I’m just thankful Treadeau has granted them sanctuary in Canada, as long as they’re not “white”.
  17. I’ve really enjoyed the MP5 and clones I’ve used. The PTR is the “best” of the clones that I’ve used. HK has taken care of me over the years. My sister, who also worked for the government until her death, carried a USP Compact 9mm. The very first handgun I purchased was a USP 40 full-frame. I was disappointed the AF didn’t adopt the HK XM8 as our primary weapon system.
  18. It’s the MP5K. You ever shoot one Ratpatrol? It brings “spray and pray” into sharp focus. I only fired one at a private range once and I was good. It’s fun to shoot, but not for me. I prefer these.
  19. And.. here’s some P90’s for good measure. I actually like these. Very fun to shoot.
  20. Sure, the problem we have is that we equipped these groups and in some cases trained them. There are members of the Templars/Zetas who are ex-Mexican Special Forces who received training from or SF guys. These cartel guys would be 2 or more to a rig. Two guys with AK or semi-auto PDW is too much for one guy with a revolver. When our guys were faced with this they responded by basically blind firing in return. I can bore you with horror stories about it if you like but they’re all anecdotal evidence. At my department we had one training day a month. This meant we typically had one single firearms qualification a year. This is insufficient to develop and maintain the skills needed in a firefight. The rest of the trainings were legal updates, mandatory HR stuff, investigation techniques, first/aid, dealing with psych patients, and defensive training. This lack of proper training leads people to resort to their fear instincts instead of falling back on their training. The do shit they saw in movies. It becomes more Bad Boyz and less John Wick in a hurry. When you’re out there, alone, no backup for 4+ minutes in a firefight against a determined attacker that picked time, location, and method of attack it’s a bad day. You’re lucky to survive with a mild limp and a pension. Fuuuuuuuck that. I’ve hunted those things, and I used a Remington Model 700 .30-06. I’d take this to check the mail at your place.
  21. I’ve used small caliber handguns to startle off predators. When it comes to dealing with predators, nothing that works is stupid.
  22. Well mate, I’ll say this, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to pursuit drive and put rounds on target. When I was contracting I took a training course on this. I tried it I fuuuuuuuucked it up. I’m admittedly no Travis Haley, but with a pistol, as the driver, I didn’t hit a single man sized target on the first day. As a policeman, we did zero days of training on this. Absolutely none. This is something that would take several thousand hours to master if you have a gift for it. Honestly, I never did it as a cop. I’d rather use a technique to force them off the road if possible. It’s like trying to use these.
