my 89 had a balance shaft. as far as i know all 4g54b's had em.

those motors have some serious power. for a d50 anyways. but i guess i had a header, 38/38, balance shaft removed and i forgot what they were in the head, but i bought the deletes for them too...

not going cheap on this. i will have this truck forever. and if it does go wrong. il always have a couple l's to throw back in. its real cold here in the winter, and i like to go on long random road trips in the summer. so this ka and a 5 speed will really be awesome for dependibility, reliability, and if something does go wrong out of town, it going to be easier to find parts for a 92 240sx, than a 71 datsun lol. either way its a win/win. so far, for this swap i have... a spare 521 tank im going to be geting boiled and the correct ring welded in for pump. and i have fuel pump will have motor next week. and rebuild it my self to keep costs down. resurfaced fly wheel, new clutch and pressure plate. cooling fans i still need. (main things) - can/am box - wiring harness - transmission - drive shaft. I havespare one to get made so the truck isnt down too long - alum. rad and - exhaust manifold - nissan rebuild kit

you just get a regular notch kit from any company that makes them. and cut them to desired size. grans customs has them, theres also lots of other places

Ok so you can put a ka in a 521!? I've been looking for examples and all I can find is half done build threads. Please build it and thread it. I will copy you all the way, if you pull it off. I'm sure you will.

well "north dakota" just left with the 4 door dime! i feel its goin to a great home. make good use from the parts that are not rusted.

I got front and rear brake shoes ay napa. There were the tru stop line. They were dirt cheap. Like 12 bux for the front, and 10 for the rear i think. quality was good too! they stop great. i got my front wheel cylinders from rock auto. The raybestos ones for like 18 bux a piece. So total about 70 bux into my brakes, that is pretty cheap, but they are good quality. And stop great for drums on all 4 corners. next it going to be a larger master cylinder, becuase i like firmer pedals.

yea but 2 of us 4 techs just quit. we are also down to 3 lube guys. i am the only one there not looking for another job, the other tech has another job at another deale out of town, just needs to find an appt. plus they are building a brand new building.... so they have to try to keep us one way or another. with this dolar raise, i am still onlly at 10.50

yea some days i wish i could, but i do love what i do, even though i do not agree with how they are running the place into the ground. but the place has so much "old money" they will never go under.

sounds like you just need to get nep parts to fix them and sell them. it would be kinda dumb to make them into starters. work on that datsun if your bored lol oh i know! electric window motors!

well i got the gaskets in, and wired in the sunpro super tach ! i thought it was a lok a like, but then i remembered that was my other one. looks pretty good :)

no slide hammer required. look behind the brakes. there is 4 large nuts. i believe 19mm. take those loose, disconnect brake lines, e-brake cables. and slide axle and brakes off. then, stand the axle up on the lug studs. pull the brake assembly off straight up. there will be your bearing and races. the seal will be on the axle itself. your sure its not wheel cylinder seepage?
