so what was the problem then?

he got a truck for work, not trying to defend this guy, he just doesnt know how to work on vehicles. all im asking is how hard is it to get this vtek working? if i get there and find a wiring mess, or just over all shit car, i will walk away.

this guy has only had the car a few months. doesnt know a whole lot about cars either. he bought it this way, drove it for a couple months, alt went out, now its sitting in his drive way. this guy did none of the work, i am trying to get in contact with the origiona owner right now to see whats been done. we have mutual friends, so i have heard of the guy who did the swap, and its always been good talk... but not so sure on this one

yes it is vtec head also. for sure

he got a new vehicle, and the alternator is out in this, and he doesnt want to fix it and wants it gone. he said it runs and drives fine though

well i am looking at buying a car for about 2 grand. cuz im selling my gas guzzling truck, and want this nice porsche gor 2k. but i am not going to get it, I found this 91 civic hatch si, (my favorites), for 1000 obo. body is pretty straight, but rattlecanned, interior is decent he said. has a set of 17 inch rims with good tires for an extra 400 bux. also comes with a short throw shifter, some name brand i dont remember, and a password jdm shift boot. well i got him to go to 1000 for all of it. i finally asked if it was a stock motor and he said no. its been swapped to a d16y8 VTAKKK. but they never changed the ecu, so the vtek doesnt work. ... he didnt do the swap, he bought it this way. is this an easy fix to wire it in, or get an ecu? or just something i should run away from, real fast lol like always guys, any help is greatly appreciated and pics are a must as always, this is the car

when you get gasket maker, dont get the orange or red stuff, get the grey. it seems to work the best for me.

that add says it has a toyota chassis? does it have a toyota motor then too, or do they not know what there talking about?

motor coming out... my little work area. got this bench dedicated to the datsun. just got the head and v/c set on this shows the passengers motor mount. just about fits, but not enough angle on it will clear hood better then the l20b i have the center drag link and tie rods out, will have to fab something up with those when its time. here you can also see the bung in the oil pan for the turbo return line.

well this weekend was some good progress. the 520 door hinge worked great! pulled the l20b out today. Tossed the oil pan on the KA and set it in place just to see where it sits. i got it to go onto the factory mounts just barely, i think if i put a spacer/ angled shim under the passengers motor mount, it would work. but, i need to move the motor back some. So, diff motor mounts are in the works. also got the bottom end on the KA together. i got new rings a week ago, and ended up wrecking one. found another one, so ita all taken car of. just need to check torque on the mains, and then i can finish up the motor.

any one got any part numbers for an idler arm and pitman arm? mine are shot.

what a shame the shape of the 521 is in now. :(

ive heard of flipping the b/j's, but thats on mazda's and d50's. idk about 620's though.

so are you saying these will or will not likely work?

i thought they were held on by rods?
