  1. I always get a price qoute prior to even bothering to pull a part. Also, if a Bone Yard charges you a price different from that which is advertised, its called False Advertising and its a crime. Take a photo of the published price, and your receipt...go see the district attorney; or threaten the Bone Yard with that. It could very well cost them their business license.
  2. Wheres the Sextant? You GOTTA have a Sextant, for Star Sightings.

    Por 15

Just go to http://www.por15.com, that way you can order exactly what you want/need. Especially since you can order it in various amounts, colors. Remember that POR15 Rust Prevention is UV Sensitive (it goes to a flat look over time), so its best to put a protective coat of paint over it. The best results are 1 coat, allow to tach for an hour. 2nd Coat of POR15, then once it has tacked after about 3-4 hours, a coat of paint. If you allow it to dry and then spray an acid etch primer on it, it does not etch into the por15 quite as well. You can primer after it has tacked up for a few hours also.
  4. Nice, The beam pattern even looks like it will not blind other drivers, oncoming or via rear view mirror. Thats getting to be one of my pet peeves. People who fail to re-aim their modified headlights, or raised trucks and wind up blinding my ass on the road.
  5. I am jealous. FT/FC Myself....tried to get the 3 Mike/Mike training, REQUEST DENIED! We have a 3M Repair Station on board. :cursing: Feel Free to toss me a 3M Training Manual if you have one...Stupid Me, I should have certified out on it on my own initiative I guess.
  6. Ariz. Government has a contract with a Private Company. They smog best back to 67, no matter what. He might be able to get by with the weber though...depends on what all is blocked off. I would suggest holding on to the equipment, just in case.
  7. Using a Bosch Relay works well for quite a few circuits. I used one in order to pull a full 14.25 volts from the battery direct to the coil, up from 13.5 volts. It provides a hotter spark, better burn, more power and mpg.
  8. Wouldn't this be considered word of finger, not word of mouth?:D Tucson here. But the wreck is still being worked on. Notta Yetta Drivable. As for anyone who is snotty about a car...they better be driving something real special...say a Limited Edition Aluminum Body 63 1/2 Split Window Vette (500 made) with a 327. Or a 67 Shelby GT 500 CS/SS Convertible:drool: :lol::lol:
  9. WAIT to post anymore bids....You want to be there at the end to submit a max bid, about 30 seconds before it expires.
  10. There are ways to pass the smog test. Once the B210 is on the road, it will be war. Smog Test, License, Reg will be only to obtain Insurance. Once that is done, they can all expire. The car will not have a license plate on it...Only "Without Prejudice" UCC 1-207. Then the real fun begins, cause you just know the Police will want a peice of me. Its going to be fun exercising the Constitution versus the Universal Commerical Code.
  11. I have never built or worked on the L-Series engines, but rather than tossing on Webers or Dellortos, wouldn't a set of SU's be better for what he wants? Cheaper, variable Venturi. Can drive them easy for MPG or Hard for Performance. Should go good with a 2" Exhaust and Header. Set on Ebay starting at 20.00...Link is Below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-SU-Carbs-w-Inake-L-Series-Motor-w-Heat-Shield_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem250321878839QQitemZ250321878839QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  12. Pretty little 1200. Any details on what you did for the conversion to 91 Sentra brakes? And are you selling the 5 speed when you pull it?
  13. The driver was uninsured. Its all been settled, he came into my lane at 80 mph on the interstate. As the Police Officer said to me, after he talked to the other Driver. I don't smell alchohol, but he is on something. It was two kids heading home to Northern Arizona after a party weekend down in Mexico. The passenger was so stoned that when the police tried to give him a test, he kept falling on his ass. One of the cops finally told him to just stay on the ground. Anyways, any moneys wound up coming from my Insurance company, and the Red B210 is now a parts car.
  14. PISH! Nothing that a little chewing gum, duct tape and baling wire can't fix.
  15. Too bad they are not for converting to posi-trac. Nice machine work.
  16. New Cars do not handle tangling well with these old datsuns. Examples below from my accident. I drove away:thumbsup:
  17. THAT is a sweet little roadster.
  18. Dad was 30 years Army. His career included cook, artillery (105, 155 [long john]) and several missile systems, including Sergeant Missiles and Pershings. Retired CWO4 IG for Pershings/Germany. He traveled a lot, so when he was home, he tried hard to make the time count; his punishments were as full of quality lessons as his Father/Son time (that with 5 boys). BUT! We had a 73 Volkswagen Variant (squareback here in US) with a Porche Flat 4 Engine (previous owner put it in). Purred like a kitten but for some reason my older brother decided we just HAD to remove and overhaul it. Dan and I were knee deep in parts when Dad came home. The car pulls up, you hear your Fathers footsteps, then.......nothing....silence! for about a minute. Then Dad says DANNY!! IT BETTER RUN WHEN YOUR DONE!! My brother gets this hurt look on his face that says "I can't believe you doubt me". Never heard another word, from Dad, until we were done....then he just asked "does it run"? Thats my Dad. He would let you put your foot in it, figuring he had already taught you how to not do that.
  19. A guy in the yahoo 210 group did it, so i Power to Weight Ratio = OMFG::blink::blink::w00t::eek::poop:
  20. Actually, Be glad the order was cancelled. I got a full set of B210/120Y bushings from Noltec, and it was a disaster. Front Lower Control Arm bushings - did not fit, Australian Control Arms are different from the U.S. Aussie are 2 bushings per arm from either side. US is larger diameter Single Bushing with an External and Internal metal sleeve. Shock Absorber Bushings - Too Tall and the middle whole was too big. Leaf Spring Bushings - Rear Shackle Eyes - wrong size, wrong diameter on lower bushings - frame bushings fit. Front Eyes - Same as Rear Eyes, managed to make frame bushings fit. The lower front bushings were correct. Sway Bar Bushings - Not thick enough By using bushings in places other than where intended, i managed to use about half of them on the leaf spring. I purchased a set of Energy Suspension bushings for the sway bar. Put new standard bushings on the Front Lower Control Arms. And since Whiteline bought out Noltec, there was no option for replacements or money back.
  21. DrillSgt, Try contacting Marvin at (520) 747-8965, thats ACS Used Auto Parts in Tucson. He used to have some 79-82 210s there in his boneyard. Unless he has crushed them, he may have an automatic transmission and tailshaft that will work for you. I would sell you mine out of the 78 B210, but I should mention it probably needs a rebuild. It worked when last I drove the car, but I cannot remember if there was some slippage or not due to the bands.
  22. On the head, I should probably clarify. As there are several different types. Specifically what you would want is the Oval Port A14 H72 head from the A14 motor. Below is a link on the A-Series cylinder heads on wiki, written up by by Datsun1200.com. http://wiki.datsun1200.com/index.php/A-series_Cylinder_Heads It gives information on all the different heads. Closed chamber versus open chamber and various results. By the way. The bit about the increased voltage at the coil is an immediate result bolt on improvement for any old car where power is fed through the Ignition Switch. It essentially corrects voltage drop across all that wire and the ignition switch by shortening the path from 5-7 feet of wire to about 4 inches, allowing full voltage at the coil. The idea may work with the stock coil. I chose to go with a performance MSD Blaster 2 coil (used on ebay form $5.00 and up) to handle the slightly higher temperatures caused by the increased voltage output.
  23. My 78 B210 is my parts car. It has an automatic transmission in it that worked before a ring blew in the motor. For conversion your looking at the following. 1) Transmission, shifter, 2) Lines 3) Radiator with auto trans line connections 4) Drive Shaft End, as the Automatic is different than the manual. One hindrance you may be looking at is the tranny tunnel. I am not sure on the 79-82's but for the 73-78 B210's the Automatic Tranny tunnel is larger than that on the Manual cars because the Tranny bell Housing is Larger. I think the flywheel is also different. The car is down in Tucson, Ariz. though.
