  1. Now if only you owned a wrench you might be able to achieve that sick "battery tray to alternator shelf conversion." :fu: I kid... :poke:
  2. He was planning to use his American Eagle one size fits all belt.
  3. I would give Kirden the tach... Seriously though that looks extremely clean. Definitely take your time and figure out what the car tells you. I'm finally stuck on direction with my B210 after going through swap threads, bag options, stance options, paint, ect. Now its just meeting my wallet in the middle till I have a finished project. Welcome to ratsun and good luck with your build :)
  4. Oh wow, you go guys. I honestly thought y'all were pros with that quality of work. Good luck with the project :)
  5. Yea, honestly I know nothing about suspension. Thinking suspension tech is going to be next at the community college.
  6. Very nice work. I wish I could do this work. The welding classes are a start, but where do I get all this suspension mumbo jumbo from? lol Can't wait to see the final product.
  7. Honestly thats not too bad. The one single DCOE mani I found was 265 shipped and luckily ggzilla saved me there by letting me know that a single 40mm DCOE doesn't have much room to grow over a 32/36 weber. R1s are cheaper to purchase and seem to be easy enough to service and tune. I had planned on dual DCOEs after speaking with ggzilla, so ~$400 for the manifold is very similar to what a dual DCOE mani with throttle towers costs. Then add two new DCOEs and you are talking ~$1200 for mani, carbs, and rejetting. R1s should hopefully get me running for a bit less :P
  8. Actually $100 isn't anywhere near as high as I had imagined. Guess I've been looking at too many Aussie parts. Shipping was $250 for my grill o.O
  9. Ah you may be correct. Been a while since I looked at an L series. Carry on Mr Skinny Jeans
  10. Anyone stateside make these? Only bogg bros I could find were UK. Looking at the possibility of this setup on my A15 and I already have a cad file for the flange. Just need someone who can do the runners and cut the flange
  11. You may aslo want to mount your alternator... Just sayin.
  12. I third the pot. Sadly I can't meet the current bid, but I would love to help out if possible
  13. Why datsport why? ... http://www.datsport.com/strut-dsk245B.html
  14. Alright, so cause I'm hard headed and figured Iknowledge is a good thing, I'm looking for a slim mount caliper. Something built to fit somewhere around 9 inch rotors like the ones in the following link: http://www.ekmpowershop9.com/ekmps/shops/gtstuning/m16-replacement-wilwood-4-pot-caliper-150-p.asp The driving force behind this is I want to figure out all of my options for a brake "upgrade" on the B210 that will still allow me to use 13" rims other than aluminums like Barts. Just need a few ideas on the calipers and I'll run with it from there.
  15. Eh, its just personal preference for me. Autos make me lazy when I drive and I either get distracted or sleepy. Manuals give me something else to focus on so other than highway driving, they keep me more alert. Guess thats what happens when you grow up with an OTR trucker. Sleeping in the cab while grandpa was driving was a very bad idea :P
  16. God please let the breed die... I swear this stupid oldsmobile I am driving eats at my soul every time I drive to work. Its the first automatic I've had since I was 16 and learned to drive a manual. Edit: However, the olds was given to me and gets me to and from work, so unti one of my datsuns is back on the road, I'm stuck like Mr Skinny Jeans :(
  17. Just give in. Sexy wood center piece, sexy shift knob, no more issues trying to swap the auto... Much moar bettar
  18. So it is now Oct 30th and my landlord still hasn't fixed my driveway. I'm fuming over this. I had the tow truck driver stop by my house and he flat out told me that he would not go up my driveway unless I got it fixed. This is the same driveway that basicly destroyed my 620s carrier bearing housing, and now its so bad that the 89 oldsmobile I got for free is scrapping and its at stock ride height. The main problem is that the tow driver has to back up the entire driveway to drop the car. Anyways, on to the slight progress. I'm sourcing a stock carb temporarily while I search for a single DCOE manifold. I also dropped a teaspoon of MMO down each cylinder and turned the crank by hand. Its not locked, and no wierd clanking noices. I'm trying to figure out the best way to drop the oil pan but the oil we drained didn't have anywierd particles. The fact that it sat for atleast 5 years bothers me, but supposedly it was due to carb problems and after trying to pull part the old carb I can see why. The seals were rough and everything was loose. We're still a long way from start up. I still need new fuel hose (not sure what size) and I want to flush the coolant system. Not to mention we're still looking at our options for a temporary stock carb.
  19. Damnit. You guys have such awesome toys and I have two datsuns that aren't even running... One of which is being held hostage cause my landlord won't fix my stupid driveway for the rollback... Can't wait to see what you do. I know everyone likes the RB26, but the L28 with triple webers sounds so beastly :P Thats what finally sold me on going the DCOE A15 > KA24 on the B210 lol
  20. I'll bid $100. You'll be missed Cam
  21. I wish people would shill out. I joined ratsun because it was a fun place to learn about my datsuns and maybe find help/parts if needed. Now a serious ratsun family member has passed and instead of embracing the thought of an auction for his family, which I completely agree with, the people in charge make yet another hasty decision that hurts the community. Why are we having all of these issues? Just let the auction happen and lets try to help out cam's family. He was a great guy and participated in a lot of the threads I've read through.
  22. As always, waiting patiently to see this one through. This build thread is so much more entertaining than minty... :fu: J/K, your build and tristin's social networking thread are both very entertaining and informative. You're still planning to paint the truck right? I mean it looks good to me, but black over that green will be stunning :)
  23. Yea, thats the guy that was selling that intake and exhaust log manifold set for $750 AUD on ebay. its the one earlier in that thread that is all painted black. I asked him about modifying it for fuel injection and he said he could do that for an additional cost, but with shipping to the US it just isn't in my budget. It would be about $900 AUD for the manifold and an additional $500-600 AUD for freight. However, the ideas are great and that gives me ideas of what to ask a local fabricator if I decide to run a turbo (supercharger seems easier :P )
  24. Very nice score. Looks like the interior is pretty clean. $500 is a steal for a decent rolling chassis and two engines. Did either of those engines happen to come with a carb? I may know a buyer if so lol.
