  1. thanks for the link. I was supposed to go to ground control as they were able to add a panhard bar for me. just have to drive up there. you should talk to them as they are close to you. I know they have done it to a wagon before as some of their ex workers had a wagon and they did a lot of stuff to it.
  2. sounds good. i am interested in at least a panhard bar. been wanting one as I really think this would help the handling on the wagon/s
  3. It is good that you are doin what you want regardless. even though I did not have a lot of people linking to me as a friend some have contacted me on email just to stay connected as there are many out there just interested in what people are doing out there.
  4. that sounds good. i have a site for all to view. you can check it under myspace under garagelife. now that I know your page I will send a friend request.
  5. if this can fit my wagon or at least the center section I may buy. I am in san francisco. Datzenmike I lost your info on this but can you refresh me if this can fit a wagon rear end with changing the inner gears on the axles. I am just wondering how it would be for my car as i have a 81 zx trans and long rod motor.

    510 brakes

depends on what you would say is too expensive. for me and others get new brake shoes and hardware for the rear and get some aluminum drums from a 240Z either new or from wrecking yard. get 280zx front brakes and struts and of course clean up and surface rotors and repack bearings and change out seals get stainless braided brake lines all around. you can also get the zx brake master also if you do use the zx front brakes you will have to do mods to fit the 510 springs or go coil overs if not I know some either get new rotors for stock struts or get a wilwood brake conversion with hardware. some guys on here sell this setup.
  7. if the motor is not heavily modded meaning either bored or stroked or big cam or designed for more top end I would say stay with single downdraft. I know you can run dual su's but I don't think the trouble to change over would be worth it. even for myself if I get another 510 I would just get a L20 and use a downdraft and go autoxing or even go fuel injection. I have dual mikuni's and they are not too bad but at times I even would not mind switching to fuel injection for more precise consistent performance
  8. you don't really need it but it is nice to have if you have plans to do a lot of racing and or setting up for different track use. for me I run Ground Control with Tokico HP's with 280zx struts and 14" tires and it works fine for San Francisco streets. personally to get good handling don't lower the car very low or make sure you have good travel with good matched spring rate. adjusting camber will help handling but at a cost of tires getting worn out quicker. Remember you can request for coil springs rates as some ground control kits have low rates. i myself went from 200 lbs to 300 lbs and like the change. I think datsuns should do well at 300-350 rates for fronts.
  9. That is one clean wagon/car. really shows hard work and attention pay off. nice car. love the exterior color and wheel combo
  10. Those are both nice wagons. right amount of lowering and wheels make a huge difference. bmxandee that color style or like a watanabe is very clean looking.
  11. I have been using NGK with good success but have wondered about the iridium plugs performance. have any of you used them with good or bad results? thanks
  12. from your pic how many of those so called shock bushings with sleeves did they send you? if they sent you 4 with 2 sleeves then those may not be for the shocks. those may be for the tension rods. just a comment. I personally do not like urethane all around and they are noisy. I only like it for certain areas. I don't like using them on control arms or tension rods or anything with a lot of movement. makes it squeaky and makes the car sound junky
  13. I have pics of the delrin kit on my myspace page under garagelife. I personally like the kit. easy install and cheap and does the job. as for the rear leaf bushings I can still get those from the dealer but they don't have all of them. I am working on this to try to get all of them. I don't like using urethane if I don't have to.
  14. If the car is to be street driven and maybe mild track I would say go with stock arms with new bushings and all new bushings for other areas like TC rods and idler. get new tie rods and ball joints. I personally would not get too fancy unless you are going to track the car. save your money. you can also use the delrin ball kit with stock bushing for the TC rod and that works well. I have a Addco rear bar on my wagon and it works well. I got lucky and found a used one with hardware but addco was nice to send me a hardware kit free just pay for shipping. they still sell the bars. right now when money gets better I want to try different rear shocks as I have tokico hp's all around but just curious about other shocks or something with more travel. also about to change out the rear leaf spring bushings I live in san francisco and the roads are horrible so considering how old my car is it is still ok for the streets.
  15. Have any of you heard of the band the datsuns. I was reading a paper and they are supposedly a band from New Zealand or something using that name. Interesting. I wonder if they are any good.
  16. started it. have not driven it a week
  17. great shoot. the fender is relayed out.
  18. I hope to be able to come out and meet some of you. just kind of tough after work to make it down there from SF. will try.
  19. right on SD surf for the post. have a good ride today and come back in one piece. happy 4th to all. enjoy the bbq and partying. don't drink and drive and ruin the datsuns.
