dave did not get into detail about how it drove but said for the most part it can be done to be nice on the street and the torque and top end would be strong. I personally think it would rock. good mix. just have to put one or two together to see the results.

thanks DatzenMike You sent me this info in the past and kept it as when time and money get better I want to do this swap. I can do the swap but wish there were more guys that were in my area that have done this swap to sort of hang out or guide me to make sure I don't miss anything. biggest issue is just getting parts as i am so busy to go wrecking yard shopping for parts.

I have a rebello long rod 2.3 in my wagon and it makes good power and very streetable. I think I could use a different gear ratio in the rear end to make it wake up even more. it makes about the same power as a KA sohc motor would. I was toying with building a z24 block with ka head as Dave Rebello told me that motor can make a lot of power. He tells me to get a dohc head if possible as the sohc cam makes power but the valvetrain is better on the dohc motors. worked out good as I have a spare Z24 bottom end lying in my garage and just need to find a head for cheap. If I can build it sometime I will post as I am sure lots want to see one of those in person as not too many have that motor. Rebello tells me he builds some for guys corr racing/truck racing.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a zx turbo and doing mods like turbo upgrade,exhaust,boost controller,intake upgrades and ecu changeout or getting a 240Z and adding a zx turbo motor or staying with a 240z for its old school feel and stay NA . just the zx body is starting to rub on me now at days and fuel injection is nice. seems like a zx turbo is a low budget start. I used to drag race and if I can make 250 whp at the wheels and make the car somewhat light I think it will rip on the street and strip. Keep me posted on your build. love to see the progress.

Bleach your car looks nice with the stance and wheels. sometimes when I see zx's like these it makes me want one over a 240Z. zx and zx turbo's look like 240's with G nose with modern touches. How does the zx turbo drive as it seems like it would be easy to make those fast with some simple mods? I like that black one Gollum posted. I may have to buy one of these for fun.

nice wheels. I like these way more than I believe your old wheels ( hoshino ). what tires are you running. tney look a bit stretched. looks like a 185-60-14.

real hard to fight. also will consume a lot of your time. even if you say you did not intentionally run the light they may come back at you saying you were not paying attention which they will say is the importance of driving. california is tough on red light infractions and especially now since the state is in a budget crunch they are looking at making money at every area possible. I know it is a lot of money as I got one once but it was a lesson learned for me. I need to pay attention to the lights. But if you do fight it good luck.

16 when I got my 240Z. young and dumb but learned a lot from that car and miss it to this day. got into the honda's since high school til about 30 years old and from then to now(35) I have a 71 wagon which I have a good amount of fun with. would not mine doing a Z again and doing it right engine wise or getting a coupe or sedan for cheap. I also have a 71 blazer 4wd

Benzo- id hold on to your ZX's..with a bit of wet sanding & polishing anything is possible. Thanks PCD but I was thinking of selling the wheels as I could use the money and space in my garage and I already have a set of nice wheels on my car. your wagon is looking nice. like the green color and accents on the wheels. goes well and not overly done. cool street car. libras were not bad either.

I really like the work you did on the zx wheels. it makes the wagon look a lot better and I am sure they handle nice. I have a set of zx wheels for sale and now I am thinking should I keep them just for kicks

That is what I want to do. I want to go to places like oregon and washington and canada to see the datsun love. There is a lot of love for these cars.

you definitely spend a good deal of time on this ride. very unique to say. hopefully I can meet you and see your work in person. have to make some time to come to the meets to meet a lot of other datsun folks let alone wagon folks. great progress.

your Z looks a lot like my old Z. same paint color. I had the bottom rockers black and a black air dam and it looked very nice. wish I had wheels like watanabes to go with it at the time.

I can get you some factory window channel felt for about 75.00 for a kit that will do two windows. I can also get some inner squeegees for about 15.00 a side. Those are nice dyno numbers. very similar set up to my engine. I am now wondering if I should switch gear ratios as i think that would move my tq #'s close to yours. would you be willing to tell what jets you are using so I can compare to what I have? That has got to be a fun street car. Wife is sure going to have fun in it.
