Meh I'm no expert in these matters. The surge tank is interesting. I suppose the goal is to maintain a flowing cycle of fuel at constant pressure. This was in that thread http://www.sr510.com/fuel.php Looks like a good simple setup to me and I don't see why you couldn't keep the stock tank.
