Meh, its a 40yr old car... its bound to have issues. You can look through most of the build threads here and see that no ones project was a complete walk in the park. Even the guys dropping high dollars into their projects are having troubles. Thats just what you have to expect when youre dealing with classic J-tin.

Are you talking about painting the truck black with red accents or are you talking about painting it red? If its the former, gross; I vote no. If its the later than red could look good... Personally I like the white.

Be careful as not all SSRs take the same size cap...

I know nothing about VWs (nor really care to learn at this moment as I dont plan on owning one), but I was certain there was a Rabbit thread that someone was building that had a 1.8 diesel in it... only reason I thought it existed. I appreciate the correction though Jacob. Edit: Found the thread, read it, and its a 1.9

My dad is ridiculously into guns. Hes owned everything under the sun and although hes been downsizing lately, he keeps a few around for specific purposes. If he does any traveling, he carries a .38 snub nose special (the short barreled revolvers you see cops carry in older movies). It packs a decent punch and is compact. They are a common gun and dont have anything fancy on them since youre not "into guns." Since they are common, you can get many accessoeris for them to suit your needs. You can get different holsters that fit your travelling needs. My dad has a pocket holster, a hidden belt holster for working, but usually carries it in a fanny pack with a few extra rounds. A benefit is that your old lady should be able to use it as well if the need arose. My uber frail mother has shot it numerous times without issues.

It would be cool to see a 1.8 diesel in a 510... Im not one for cross platform engine swaps, but Im also game with a 50mpg engine to allow for less money spent went I daily the dime.
