Okay so i got a practically free VW hood so i thought it only right to mock up my solar eclipse hood... it needs some slight changes before i do a similar paint to my actuall 620 hood...

let me know what you thinks

the shadow on the left should be closer to the sun, and not as pronounced.

the white effect is dam cool

tho the tater tot idea has merit as well. throw some johnnys on em first

So you think if i moved the shadow on the left in and made it a sliver kinda on the right, it would look better?

I agree its one of the things i was plannin on fixing...

I am hoping the resident Ratsun Artist sees this to give me some pointers:lol::lol:

Kudos for jumping in there 510er!:)

I think the main thing you have to watch out for, and the fatal flaw of a lot of rising suns, is that you gotta get those rays perfect. They can't be individual widths cause as they radiate out it tends to get wonky looking.

I think to really pull this off you are gonna need some awesome fading skills. With enough practice I am sure you could nail it. But it is something an airbrush artist could knock out in a snap. It will need to be pretty subtle in areas.

Attached is my two cents on it. But I'd never tell anyone how they have to paint their truck, so feel free to ignore!:)

FISCH!! that looks bad ass! that is exactly what i was going for! ill have to break out my ole airbrush and do it up.

The reason the rays were all different is because i rushed it and was just goofing around but ill pick up some extra paint for the airbrush and go nuts it has been a while since i have had my hands on it but should come back quick
