Can someone explain to me a u67 head

I have a 71 wagon with an l18 and i was wondering if someone could explain the benits of a u67 head and if i could use it on my motor or what else i can do in terms of performance. I dont want something to crazy.all i know about the head is that it has a soild liftercam i think. Where does it come from?

Well, to explain the benefits, we'd have to know what we're comparing it with. What are you swapping out for the new u67? I think all the head specs are on the620.com. Guys, is this right?:confused:

from what i know the u67 head is the square port "non smog" head for the l20b its an open chamber and if im remembering correctly the valves are some of the biggest that cam stock on a 4 cylinder

The only L-series that had hydraulic lifters were 6-cyls in very, very late 280ZXs. There never was a hydraulic lifter 4-cyl in a production vehicle (there may of course been prototypes that never saw production)

sounds 'bout right. ports are already 1.5" too.

what head do you all ready have because if you have a closed chamber head and you switch to a open chamber head like the u67 you will loose compression

Stock L18 with stock 4.3cc dish pistons and open chamber head.... 8.37 compression

 

Same as above but with closed chamber head..... 9.002 compression
