OmahaJames
I thought I would never see it, but there it is at a local junk yard in Omaha. The frame is completely destroyed, every body panel is completely rusted at the bottom or bent or both, and scribbled across the cracked windshield is the word "mechanical". I don't really need a whole lot of parts right now, but what parts should I be looking to get off it to hold for the future or possibly sell? Quote Link to comment
racerx
doors, windshield, seats if good, tranny, engine Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Center console, tachometer, ash tray, radio (if stock), any small parts that often go missing, but this car has. All turn signal and side markers in good shape. Quote Link to comment

thatdirtykid
One of the goldmines would be a tach. And by that I mean I will give you $60 shipped if one appears in working shape. Quote Link to comment
Cosmonaut
Well is you not the generous one. 1 Quote Link to comment
OmahaJames
I checked there is no tachometer, just the usual blocker plate. This car had an aftermarket radio that the previous owner had cut the dash to make it fit. I already took the vent glass and the center console which had been modified to fit two speakers, but it looked really good, like it came from the factory that way. I also took the cowl because it was about the only part of the car that wasn't rusty and mine is made of a combination of rust, metal, and bondo. I need the antenna. Door weather seals, door window inner and outer scrapers and the pop out hing covers..Let know if you go back to get them.. I grabbed the antenna already, I am gonna use it to test and verify that mine works since the radio I have gets terrrrible reception, but if its not the antenna than I wouldn't mind shipping it. I checked the window seals and one is missing and the other disintegrated when I tried to pull it out. I'm gonna try to head back this weekend though. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
GET Driveshaft!!!!! They have non replaceable pressed in and staked U joints. For several hundred $ a machine shop can re-work them. If also a '78 like yours get the internally regulated alternator and the EI distributor WITH the coil. Has a '77-'78 newer grill so maybe it's a '78. If '77 don't bother... OPTIONAL Rad if cheap and in good shape for spare. Arm rests and exterior door handles (they can snap off) Gas filler door. kids open and bend them Quote Link to comment

thatdirtykid
I sadly know how much they sell for, thats why I was suprised a tach wasnt mentioned yet. My $60 offer is all I can justify. Last ebay one I saw sold for about $115. Someday I may come across my own 1 Quote Link to comment

The drive shaft was pretty rusty, but I could grab it when I go out again, the car was basically sitting over a puddle and I wasn't sure how much I wanted to crawl under there anyway since the thing does not seem very structurally sound, its already warped around the old wheels its sitting on to prop it up. Fuel door is in good shape though. I will probably grab it. The Radiator still is full of coolant. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I have a rusty hammer and it still works. If nothing else and you have to have a drive shaft built you can keep driving. Full rad is excellent news. 1 Quote Link to comment
