Jcooper
So I have several other forum posts from other projects I'm working on, but didn't feel right loading the story of this b210 in the 620 build thread. So here it is, and I do thoroughly apologize for the crappy/lack of good photos. So here's its story. On Friday I had received a call from my brother about a Datsun pickup that was sitting on a farm in Mohall,ND- which lead me to drive 9 hours north to eventually pick up a 67 Datsun 520- I'll try to send a forum link on this one in the 520 section. Long story short- I got it for $100, put in on a car dolly, and headed back home to Rapid City. On my way back my father and I stopped to check in on my Grandmother's house. She's currently in assisted living but we make frequent trips to mow the grass and make sure no one has been snooping around. An old neighbor of her's stopped us.... only because we were hauling a blue turd of a datsun 520. He stated he knew of a "White Datsun that his brother just moved out of storage." I asked him what kind of make and he said..."One of the car types." That meant little to me as there are several datsun cars I'm not too giddy about. He gave me his brother's number and we headed towards the address- which luckily was on our way home anyway. We met Steve. The original owner of this white b210. He said it had been parked in his barn for a year and he just pulled it out to work on his truck in the spring. The story goes that he bought it new in 75- drove it and his wife to college and back, and in 2014 he sold it to his father as a "cheap daily driver." His father passes in 2015- and the car was last running in November of 2015. I asked him how much he'd need to have for it. $100.00, "and I have the title for it too." Sold. To me. (now I just had to hall the 520 home and find sometime to come back up to get this thing.) ">http:// Everything is there except for the battery. Again- sorry for the lack of certain pictures and picture quality as I was in a rush to get home...and the sun was in my eyes. ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http://http://s1243.photobucket.com/user/jordanrcooper/media/IMG_2625_zpsukanbitv.jpg.html'> Beings Steve ran hay loaders and was moving dirt nearby, he said the interior is "a bit more dusty that it needs to be." Body is straight, every badge is there, all signal lenses are intact, and floor boards are sound. Interior is there- just needs to be cleaned. for $100 its not that bad- probably spend more in gas to get it home haha. 2 Quote Link to comment
racerx
Now that's a find for $100! Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
Thanks racerx! I actually am more excited about this thing than I am on the 520 I picked up first Quote Link to comment
racerx
One of the first thing I would do is a compression check. Maybe the engine is good. Do you know if the crank turns? 1 Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
It turns free just fine. The gentleman said he drove it to where its parked and took battery out so it wouldn't corrode. I just need to get back up there to get it on the trailer and back home. I'm actually excited to work on a car for once, my last 4 datsuns have all been trucks. This thread will have more activity once it's home 1 Quote Link to comment
racerx
From the pics, looks like the body and glass looks clean. Rust looks minor. Heck of a deal! Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
This guy knew my mother and grandparents from way long ago. He said since we're Midwest family he'd only ask a little for it. I was very pleased with him, and the knowledge he had on this 210. Paint really just needs a good washing and buffing and I'm sure it would shine. Interior panels were not warped or torn, seats intact. Like I said, I brought a 520 home (as I had already loaded it onto a trailer) but I wish I would have left that at my grandparents place and put this on the trailer instead haha 1 Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
Most of the rust was on the bumpers Quote Link to comment
angliagt
Great find! Even though I don't need any more cars, I'd take it,if I was in your position. Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
Just spoke with guy, he moved it back into garage for me, end of month can come soon enough! Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
5 more days and it'll be home. Was going to ask anyone what differentiates a honey b 210 vs not. Guy said it used to have the stickers along the side but he removed them several years ago. I've done some reading on the honey b's but wanted to know more about setup. I wish I had it home already to start cleaning it up and getting it going Quote Link to comment
OmahaJames
What a sweet find. Its cool to see another one in the Midwest. I can't wait to see what it looks like cleaned up. I think the Honey Bee model was a 2-door sedan that had just a vinyl floor with no carpet and lacked a center console. Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
Thanks for the info OmahaJames! I take pride in driving datsuns in Rapid City Sd. I sold my rescued 521 and 620 locally to guys who didn't really know much about datsuns. Those two guys have learned to love everything about them. I get a lot of looks on my current Datsun projects. This is my first 210, but it should be fun. Quote Link to comment
Sastis
I'm guessing the 74 has a a13 engine. I know this because a13 comes in the first 74 model and I used to have one. I could be wrong so correct me if I am. Clean it up drive it around and swap an l20b into and she will fly. Glade she went to someone, I remember it being on sell for $500. Quote Link to comment

America too. *long stroke, late A13 (79-82 I believe) are different consisting of the A12 stroke with a bigger bore. Quote Link to comment

I went to a Z car club meeting here in Nebraska and only one guy there had even seen a B210 before because he worked at a Nissan/Datsun dealership way back when. Quote Link to comment
Jcooper
I'd love to start attending Midwest meets. I enjoy seeing my old datsuns driving around, but never seam to be able to catch up with the guys. I've brought a total of 5 datsuns to town, 4 of which are (or will be soon) on the road. Jcooper
I'll post more pics of mine on Friday when I get it loaded on car dolly to get home, hopefully the more I dig into it the more I'll learn about which engine I've got and what I can do to keep it fairy OEM, but try to make it my new daily. OmahaJames
That was the first meet I have gone to, this is all pretty new to me, but I definitely want to go to more. I am going to take my white Datsun to a local show this weekend. Quote Link to comment
