KELMO
"Do you have instructions on how to do that?I registered, but can't get pictures to post here."I usually just stumble through until it works. If you go to images, hit the copy button next to the URL for forums, then in your Ratsun post, click on the BBC mode button in the top left corner (all other icons go dim) then right click and paste.Disclaimer: Kelmo has no actual idea if this is correct or not as he was doing it from memory. Also bear in mind that it took Kelmo about 2 years to figure out how to post pics from PB.Next time I post some oics, I will try to pay a little attention. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Anyone know of where I could get some stock fenders or fiberglass fenders for my 1981 datsun 210 wagon. Not sure how easy/cheap they'd be to ship, but I have a decent pair of metal fenders? Heck, if you're up for a road trip I'll sell you the whole car cheap. ^_^ Quote Link to comment
gene knight
my b210 karen has a issue, i flushed tank and installed new rubber lines after i blew the crap out of the steel lines and today i had to replace the battery, thank od it was still covered by warranty cuz battery was purchased at walmart in 2015, but for some reason it cranks but wont fire up/start need opinions Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
my b210 karen has a issue, i flushed tank and installed new rubber lines after i blew the crap out of the steel lines and today i had to replace the battery, thank od it was still covered by warranty cuz battery was purchased at walmart in 2015, but for some reason it cranks but wont fire up/start need opinions Is it firing at all? check that both the wires are connected from the coil to the dizzy. Make sure the points on the distributor are not burned away and are still working. Take out some spark plugs and ground them and crank the engine, see if they are firing. If they are, try pouring some gas in the carb and see if it runs for a second. Quote Link to comment
gene knight
i used some ether/starting fluid at carb when cranking engine Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
i used some ether/starting fluid at carb when cranking engine So if it didn't try and fire sounds like a problem with the ignition system I would start there. If you have points, they can move away from eachother until they don't create a gap as the distributor spins, and they won't create a field. Also there is a wire running from the - on the coil to the dizzy it won't spark without. Those are probably the easiest things to check. 1 Quote Link to comment
gene knight
so i check to see if points, it has a electronic module inside dizzy and a external relay by right strut housing area with 2 wires from dizzy and 2 wires from engine bay harness and i checked to see if cap/rotor bad and checked to see if coil is producing voltage to dizzy and then to spark plug wires i was told that it may be the float needle valve that is not working to allow fuel into carb i cant tell if fuel in bowl cuz of float is in the way of bowl view glass Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
Carb is not that difficult to take apart, just remember how to put it back together, and don't lose stuff if it falls out when you turn it upside down. I don't know much about what to look for there are internet guides for cleaning carbs though. Quote Link to comment
gene knight
b4 i took off carb, i took pix of how hoses and linkage goes and i now have it at a professional shop to rebuild it, the tech turned it over and it spilled out funky bad gas,,,wheww Quote Link to comment
gene knight
so got the carb back then installed it and still no go, i do have spark coming from coil but weak spark from plug wires and it has no points just a petronix looking relay with wires coming from it and goes to a black little box and there is 2 wires coming from the wiring harness into same box next to right front strut housing area, any opinions? Are you certain that it has Pertronix? ....Or are you referring to the white porcelain block with a blue and a black wire? That would be the ballast resistor. I don't know what you mean by "Pertronix Relay" ... There is no relay used in the ignition system, in regards to distributor to coil wiring. Pertronix is literally only a pickup device used in place of the points. On topic of the Pertronix and the resistor ballast, keep in mind.... You will have weak spark IF someone HAS installed Pertronix but has retained the ballast resistor. The resistor is in place from the factory to only allow approx. 9V to the points system. If the points receive 12V (...or 14.5V while running) they will burn up. The ballast resistor (white porcelain block above) needs to be removed when converted to electronic ignition. Sorry if you know this info, hope it helps. Quote Link to comment
gene knight
the item in the dizzy looks like a pertronix relay and it as 2 wires coming from it and goes to a little black junction box on the strut location on passenger side and then 2 wires from the wiring harness into same black junction box, i bought a different spark plug wire tester and i checked all the wires and have good spark and i even changed out plugs and replace battery cable clamps and still nothing, i am getting irritated with the b210, i just don't get why it ran when i got it back in june and flushed out fuel tank and system and now it won't run. there is no ballast resistor Quote Link to comment
gene knight
well my buddy ben/fun5ten from desert datsuns here in arizona who is a electrical genius came by to help figure out the issues we even used a electric fuel pump and check for spark at plugs and still no positive results, i am getting to the point to just send to the scrap yard i just don't get on just flushing out the gas tank, changing fuel pump, filter and rubber lines, spark plugs would cause more headaches Quote Link to comment
afracer
Pics of the distributor and wires and black box? Quote Link to comment
