ownTer
New member, figure i would say hello. I live in Port Townsend Wa, Not sure what else to say. Been looking for a truck like this for some time. But every time i have the money...no truck. You get the idea. Well........no more. Just picked it up and got home. Tucked away in its new home. Getting a good night sleep so it can get ready for new shoes and a little low. Weather permitting ill grab some more pics tomorrow. Already dropped the rear bumper. Save a few pounds and some style points. Have 3" blocks and new U bolts ready to slap in. So freaking excited. 2 Quote Link to comment

Also take solace in the fact i DO know how to use the search function. Ive already learned a wealth of info by doing so in fact. Im sure ill post some stupid questions here and there. But i will do my best to find the answers beforehand. 3 Quote Link to comment
RatRandy
The 620 is a cool truck also! Lol! Welcome from Bremerton Wa. Randy 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
^ He is wrong, but welcome anyways. For rugged aggressiveness the 521 is king. For driving comfort an ease it's the 720 For good looks it's hands down the 620. 1 Quote Link to comment
mcordero8
It's all in the eye of the beholder, but I agree with Mike. The 620 is the sexiest Datsun truck. The 520, 521, and 720 are just too square for my taste, and I like curves on my women. 2 Quote Link to comment

ownTer
Not sure but maybe i should start a build thread. It will be a slow process. But i will keep at it. As there are MANY and i mean MANY things that i want to tinker with on this truck. Not to mention the hundreds of part that will require attention. None the less. I started sanding and painting the stockers that came with it. Not going all out. Just a quick but decent job to get the truck by for a while. Once those are ready to go on. Ill toss on the 3" blocks and drop the front to match. Also gonna start sanding body panels a bit at a time to lay on some primer. Need to address some rust along the way. Dents and scrapes have been a badge of honor for me for years with the jeep. I want to do something a a little cleaner for the 620. Having never done any body work or painting on cars really. Im excited to jump into this. But as i said before. Like most it will take a lot of time and effort. Anyways, thanks a bunch for the reception. See you all around. 2 Quote Link to comment

ownTer
Welcome, good info here, some buffoonery, but still a great forum. Like your truck Again thanks a bunch. Truck is half primed now. Giving me a chance to see what's under the paint as i go. Taking it down to the bare metal. Surprised how little rust there is for what it looked like. 1 Quote Link to comment

ownTer
So i need a hand if you would? The window crank on the drivers side door just free wheels. Does nothing. The window is down, and i dont want to tear it apart not having any clue what im getting into since i cannot see one thing. Kinda worried as ive never tore apart the inner working's of a door. I have the handle off and the skin off as well. Not sure what to do without just tearing it all apart. I guess that could be the next logical step. Any help would be wonderful. Its nice out today, but who knows what tomorrow will bring. Thankfully i have a shop i can pull it into. Need to buy a book, but do not have the cash right now....friday for sure. Thanks ahead of time! And while im here, i may as well post a pic...... 2 Quote Link to comment

ownTer
Yea, im doing that today. I rolled my Jeep for 3 years without doors as a daily. Even through winter. So the window has really not bothered me. But rain is coming and i need to get it fixed. But first i think coffee and some photos are in order.... Maybe catch another sunrise. 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Welcome aboard. :) It's likely the regulator for the window is stripped if the crank just spins. If you can get one from a local junk yard it's always best to tear apart the junkyard parts first so you'll know how to pull yours apart. Still really simple stuff though. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Can you see the window top in the door from the drivers seat, or do you have to look down in the door window groove to see it? See how you can see the top of the window in my door in the photo below. 1 Quote Link to comment
ownTer
The window is actually sticking up out of the door about a 1/4". Too funny, pretty skinny wallet, and rain in the forecast. With no pick n pull within range. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
OK, I was wondering if the stopper at the bottom had rusted until it broke off and allowed the winder to go past where it is supposed to stop until it just came off the teeth. Indeed it sounds like the gear has stripped then, if you were closer this likely could be fixed fairly quick. Have you tried pulling up on the window while trying to roll it up? 1 Quote Link to comment
ownTer
Yep, the handle just spins. Yea i figure its pretty easy. I just dont want to tear it apart without having parts to fix it. It is my daily..... 1 Quote Link to comment
