Jesse C.
First picture, "UHU" the "Owl" night fighter. I have a model of one of these complete with self made radar antennas. The first pic is of a Ju 88 with "Antlers" radar gear for night fighter duties. The same was done with the He 219 Uhu (Eagle-Owl) 2 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Ah yes! I have a model of this aeroplane! Italy flew these as "commercial" airline flights between Rome and New York, with the arrogant fact that they did not remove the machine guns! The "Three Blind Mice" decorated version was used to set the transatlantic speed record from Rome to New York and was flown by Benito Musselini's son. No I did not witness that flight, but my father just might have! I have a very large lithograph of the "Three Blind Mice" aircraft as part of the Italian Air Force 50th anniversary presentation set, but it is too large to fit any known scanner! Good lord! Early Italian aircraft were really ugly! Distinct opposite to their cars! 2 Quote Link to comment
