edekalil
That car looks good as far as any issues with rust from the oics. I see it is a 1600 with a Weber32/36dgv? It really looks nice. I have a carb like that I need to rebuild for my 72/510 with a 1600. Quote Link to comment
M!XX
Looks clean. I see your locally. Hit up SuperCarSunday in Woodland Hills off Topanga Blvd and Erwin off the 101 fwy every Sunday from 7:30-10:30 am. Nice project. Quote Link to comment

Dlip
Thanks! Hainz I have been looking for smaller wheels, I've never considered running the hub caps. I am currently doing the shortened 280zx strut and brake swap, but I can't yet. I need smaller wheels. (Smaller as not wide these are 15x8) M!XX - yeah I'll check it out some time Edekalil - yeah it has some rust, but no visible cancer, yeah the carb. its a 36/32dgv yeah they are pretty strong, my original Hitachi was 40mph top speed and after swapping this it runs like a champ. My main goal as of this point is get better brakes and better suspension. I don't plan on ditching the L-series , maybe L20 at some point. I do want to swap the points but haven't done my research. Hopefully there isn't too many error I am on my phone xD Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I kept my spare hubcaps and like the way they ride also. smoother even with the coil overs. I dont drive that fast anymore anyways Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
push it home before it gets towed and you cant affort to pick it up and goes to the dump(seen this before with other owners. can you start it in gear and try to drive home? shut key off when need to stop and hope the steering dont lock up. look under by the slave cylinder Quote Link to comment
Dlip
I was able to get it home, I had to chain it to a car because it was at the bottom of a little hill. I can crank it while it being in first gear and it will just turn on as if in neutral. I also posted this is the general section, I was just freaking out because Tuesday the sweeper passed by and I did not want a ticket Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Years ago after I pulled into work after driving about 100 miles from my place I parked my car and the shifter went limp. It would not move the forks that shift into gears I thought something croked in the trans.fast forward years later I found out this had happen and nothing major was wrong with the trans. The last clutch was put in by some one other than me because I was 100 miles away when it started to slip bad. Anyway I guess these people used some cheep parts. I hope you git yours figured out and it is not to bad. Good luck. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks for the input, it was the Clutch slave cylinder, my guess is that the seals went bad and the inside was filled with gunk and dirt, it was just a mess. but it is all good now. The 72 was a auto I transformed it to a stick. They have been sitting idel for a while. I also had to replace the master brake cylinder and getting ready to replace the rear wheel cylinder's and put on new break shoes in the rear. If ya let's car sit to long it all go's down hill. Good luck. Quote Link to comment

I was in shock, my biggest fear was getting in an accident in my car, i love my car, and for this to happen just really bums me out. I did exchange information. and tomorrow morning i will see what will happen with the insurance. :crying: hate to see my car this way. Quote Link to comment

Dlip
I'm not intending to pay a cent to get this repaired, on Monday I will make the claim to her insurance. Quote Link to comment
4perrev
Heck man, I would make sure they bring that baby back to right for ya. Only thing with old car are that insurance companies like to total cars out fast. Just beware of this. If they try to total it, call their BS and settle for a cash amount and have it done yourself. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
Any updates? Howd the claim go? Quote Link to comment
