uberkevin
I've done a little reading and people I think put the de pistons in a ka24e to lower the compression. I think that what I read but it's been a while. 1 Link to comment
hobospyder
Drove to work today. Stuck on i5 and I hope I just need gas. Aiming for the mechanics when I get moving again. May end up rolling to Canby in my golf. Fuck... not happy Link to comment
]2eDeYe
It's was just outta gas man, tank had that hollow sound. Don't let it get ya down :) In my CJ I always had to fill it up every time I drove it. Link to comment
hobospyder
It's not just gas, got it to 41st barely. Gonna get it towed to Arlington tomorrow. Some serious backfiring going on Link to comment
uberkevin
Damn. But you've got time to fix it. 1 Link to comment
bananahamuck
May end up rolling to Canby in my golf. Unacceptable :sneaky: Probably sucked some crap or water type material off the bottom if you ran it completely out... Just a tiny bit of water will make it backfire like a muther fuqer 2 Link to comment
MicroMachinery
^^ That. Also, I used Z24 pistons in my 2.3. Makes it 8.9:1 using a close chamber head.. raised compression slightly, but still low enough to run on pump gas. 1 Link to comment
uberkevin
Thanks for saying something about the pistons. 1 Link to comment
uberkevin
I forsure don't run regular gas. I may have once.. 1 Link to comment

hobospyder
It's got a single point dizzy in it right now. Mechanic put that in instead of dual point 1 Link to comment
hobospyder
Was planning on going ei with the new motor 1 Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I have an ei dizzy you can borrow. Points are a pain in the ass. Edit: let me know if you want to swing by and grab it, you will need to get a cap and rotor though. 3 Link to comment

Mechanic has the keys and will be meeting me at little miss since he's going straight there after work today, buddy that towed her to the new place will be towing her to the mechanics after work. Will figure out what is going on and hopefully be able to drive her to Canby. 3 Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Well if it turns out to be the pain in the ass points, the EI swap is as easy as swapping in the new dizzy and bypassing the resistor at the coil. 2 Link to comment

hobospyder
Why? because I'm an idiot? Figured it would just be easier and why put the work in until I'm already doing a lot of other stuff under the hood 1 Link to comment

He's hard at work on it already. But I had to leave the golf at work because she decided she didn't want to start after work 2 Link to comment
