Towing her from the restaurant I had to leave her over night. So glad I'm a regular there, gonna have to run in with some goodies for them some day.

Dropped her off at the mechanics and left to return tow dolly and grab some gas money and money to pay Ken with. Returned and discovered she had a carb off

Ken was hard at it. Adapter plates had come loose (naturally because I didn't lock tie them) gaskets were dried and shrunk. He coated them in bearing grease and reinstalled after cleaning the carb jets out.

This truck has towed little miss twice now.

Got a text from Ken after I had made it home and started to calm down from the week I've been having. Says she runs like a dream and is ready for pickup, I could hung out at his place and I would only have one vehicle that I have to figure out how to get home. Will pick up little miss after getting her registered and baby girl gets home from school tomorrow. The other will have to wait until Friday before I leave for Canby sadly. Might push my time table back a little bit but I'll have little miss all packed up and ready Thursday night.

Shakedown run to and from work on Thursday

This fuck in week I swear

she is back at home and in the garage waiting for morning to go to work. ran great today, drover her nearly 100 miles since i picked her up from the mechanics. picked up some gl-4 that i need to put in tomorrow but i forgot the wheel cleaner since i'm giving her a bath when i get home from work and shining her shoes for canby.

been debating throwing the stock wheels back on since they're down in the shop but i like my blue rims. need to get those stock ones powdercoated to match the kmcs

Small update, drove through the hell that is western Washington with this heat and picked up a bunch of parts, swapped for the radio I had bought, will purchase another at a later date. But I swapped out the dome light on the ferry ride home out of boredom and now have a wprking dome light

figured i had a minute before taking daughter and ex wife out for a jaunt around town so i swapped my heater box cover with new one out of the stash of parts

old one no vent knob because it broke

20150628_114010.jpg

remove four clips, two on each side and it'll pull right off

pull cover off and you get to see your heater core, which probably isn't quite as bad as mine but can probably still use a cleaning. i'll have to take a vacuum to this soon

Nothing new to report.....

Is what I wish I had to say. Hopped in to take ex wife home and go to work at 345 yesterday morning, get halfway down the street and turn on my headlights like I usually do and no headlights, parking lights but no head lights.

So I poked at the fuses yesterday, found out I didn't have any spare 20s and closed up the truck and came inside. All this after having to push start my golf to leave work.

Went out to see if the quarter thing I saw in a different thread would work and no dice. Oh and I have no parking lights now. So off to the store I go.

Pulled the fuse box, oic to show myself the wires when I put it back in

Probably about time for a cleaning, yeah

And soaking in vinegar inside an old talent container so I could put a lid on it and not have to smell vinegar all night

Also bought fuses while I was out

And hopefully tomorrow when I get home everything will be better upon installation of the fuse box and new fuses.

Reference oic stolen from another thread so I know what fuses go where

got my parking lights back but no head lights still

and is this the external regulator for the alternator? only thing i could think of it being

20150701_191308.jpg

pulled the round thing on the right side of the picture, gonna get a replacement tomorrow hopefully. i can hear a loud clunk/click on the passenger side of the engine compartment when i pull/push the light switch and when i try to turn on the high beams in hopes of getting regular lights because sometimes my low beams won't work but turn on the brights and they turn on. i have the high beam bulbs disconnect in case of such an issue happening.

pulled the round thing because it looks like the flasher solenoid things and the noise when i try the headlights sounds very similar to one of those clicking. i could be wrong and it could all be for naught though. idk, looks like it needs replaced either way

It is likely the switch, the contacts get corroded. You can pull the switch open it up and clean the contacts or jiggling the switch when it is on works in the 4x4 if it has been sitting a while
