Conner
Just thought people might like to see some eyecandy. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ctd/4337979121.html Quote Link to comment
dp320
Wow, incredible condition. I'm surprised there is as much deterioration in the engine compartment as there is. Rubber in vent inlet area, some corrosion on various components. Not much really. Corrosion on gauge rings. Pitting in hood emblem? No trace of paint on 60 hp badge. Very clean body. Ignition key looks like mine do. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Let us not be fooled here, this is a very nice looking truck, but when one looks a little closer, things start to not add up, all the badges have had the shit polished out of them, as pointed out the rubber has deteriorated or is missing, it has 520/521 hubcaps, it has 1965 320 trim on it, as I recall the rear of the box is supposed to have reflectors, it looks like the holes have been filled in, so it has likely been painted. It's looks real good, but if you noticed, not once is the word original used in the CL ad other than "it was originally purchased", it would be interesting to see this truck in person. EDIT I have a 63(maybe built in 62) and my trim doesn't look like that, but maybe that particular trim was put on every L320 through 65, I have not paid that much attention to L320 trim. Conner
Also the ad doesn't say whether or how well it runs. EDIT: Oops, yes it does. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Also the ad doesn't say whether or how well it runs. It says it runs and drives good Conner, it's just hard to believe that it actually has 7866 miles on it, I am almost positive it's been painted though, I would have to see it in person to be absolutely positive. It's a nice looking truck, that I am positive about. Quote Link to comment
AZ_L320
I also have a bamboo tan L320 (mine is a 65). The one on CL looks pretty decent, It will be interesting to see if it sells. I agree with Wayno. I think its been painted and I have a hard time believing those are original miles. Here is a picture of mine, it does still have the original paint. Its worn in a few areas, but it is original. Mine now has 48k original miles. Quote Link to comment
zed1
I have seen the truck. It was repainted and "refurbished" by a local Nissan dealer years ago. I spoke with the PO who purchased the vehicle from the dealer, did some minor repairs, and put it up for sale at a local swap meet. Based on the current asking price, there is should be a lot of room for negotiation. Keith Quote Link to comment

Sure the odometer reads 7800+ but I'd think they'd be mentioning that all over their ad if they believed that was the actual mileage. Seems a little sneaky to me - my guess is they can't verify it otherwise they'd proudly put it in their listing. Odometer reading <> actual mileage, especially with old cars. Yes, that's a generalization but after so much time unless you have proof you just can't trust the odometer. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
This POS doesn't even have an iphone port. Jk, I'd love this truck. Thanks for the candy Quote Link to comment
difrangia
The shift lever sure looks to be positioned pretty high up toward the rear view mirror. I'd assume that it is in 1st or 3rd gear. Are the shifters adjustable so that the pattern is higher is higher or lower? Reason I ask is that I have a prosthetic leg that does interfear with some floor shifts and column shifts in the lower positions; particularly in such small vehicles. Haven't had a problem with my 320 column shift truk yet. Just wonderin' in case I do. Steve Quote Link to comment
65L320
Are the tail lights correct? It's hard for me to tell on my phone. Also, where's the passenger side shelf below the dash? Did they all come with one? It is a pretty nice truck for what It is but way out of my Datsun price range lol. Quote Link to comment

wayno
My 63 doesn't have one, nor does it have the tangs to mount one. Quote Link to comment
SS320
Since we are off topic, talking about 320 upgrades, does any one know when the passenger side sun visor first appeared? I know the '64 model never had one. Not here in Australia anyway. I just put one in today on the passenger side. Used a spare drivers side one I had laying around and swung it around the other way. Mounting bracket fits either side. Quote Link to comment
wayno
My 1964 Datsun NL320 has mount holes on both sides for visors. Quote Link to comment
SS320
What about your U320 Wayno? Visors both sides? Quote Link to comment
wayno
What about your U320 Wayno? Visors both sides? My very early 63 L320 with a 62 grill, and my 62 U320 do not have visor mount holes, neither has ever had visors. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Can someone post a pic of the 320 that was in the ad. This read is great and all but the listing is now gone. Quote Link to comment
