RatVonDude
I'll be the first to admit the 521 is not the most mountain worthy pick-up out there. I'm guessing you guys up in the rugged terrain are like "4x4 or get the fuck out" L 16 is great for crawling japanese lily pads Link to comment
smoke
A 2wd at 6000 rpm will go a lot of places. My pulling/hauling truck is 2wd. At least the 140 will last me quite a while, still hurts though. Link to comment
q-tip
I don't commute far enough to justify driving my diesel, and it doesn't help that it doesn't get to temp until I'm more than half way to work Link to comment
smoke
Yeah, no point in that. They take a while to get the water temp up and a shocking amount of driving to get the oil at temp. Link to comment
q-tip
Not to mention a diesel hates not being at operating temp Link to comment
RatVonDude
hey smoke, if you wanna freshin' up the paint on one of your bondo buggy's do you strip it down to the raw plastic? even if its an O.K original paint job? Re doing this plastic fairing and dont really feel like spending all week sanding, priming, buffing, wet sanding, just want a decent somewhat glossy black finish, gonna sticker it up anyway Link to comment
smoke
You mean fiberglass? You could probably get away with getting it really clean, then roughing it up with a scotch bright pad. Link to comment
RatVonDude
ya fiber glass. The original black paint isn't coming off easy, I want to put a rattle can car paint on it and buff it. Should I use the plastic primer? Not sure if its a bad idea to just leave the original paint and prime on top. Link to comment
smoke
I think that for what you're doing, just get it rough and spray it, no primer. Link to comment
smoke
Should probably not recommend such a thing to you, but I have had good luck with it personally. Link to comment
RatVonDude
I'm gonna do just that, but only to spite the 6 million pages of car blogs and youtube videos that suggest otherwise. Nothing could be worse than a new Acura paint job. Link to comment
Royal Sierra
In that case, I'm gonna put my camper in my 521. Do it.. 4 Link to comment

bananahamuck
Looking at the size of your truck, i'm pretty sure no lube will be needed to " get it in" so to speak.. 1 Link to comment

q-tip
Yep. I did change the original spring bushings last month though...that was a fuckin ordeal, they had "become one" with the spring. That's why I just get another set of springs, or burn them out, done that before Link to comment
