Draker
How's your radiator cap? Does the coolant system hold pressure? Flow test radiator? get laser gun and spot check the radiator to make sure it's not clogged. Back flow.. check again. CLR that bitch.. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Scratch that... I see you've already installed a new radiator. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Radiator cap came with radiator. Which was a brand new champion all aluminum radiator that I bought from Busta Nut. It holds pressure too. Im starting to think it's the temp sensor because it doesn't actually boil over when it gets hot. I'll take pics of the new stuff later when I'm not pissed off and want to work on it again. Quote Link to comment

Janksun
Wait are you selling your wagon? I saw it on CL It's "for sale" don't want to sell it, but if someone's gives me my outrageous asking price, I would sell it. Quote Link to comment

Busta Nut
Try a pyrometer if you have access to one....maybe a cheapy one from Harbor Freight..... It's gotta be the sensor or the gauge........it's too intermittent to be mechanical....... Hope you don't sell it........but your financial situation gets better........ Quote Link to comment
izzo
Do a compression test, but before that... start the car cold, and pull the radiator cap.. does it push water out of the radiator? Quote Link to comment
Janksun
On cold start, with cap on. Remove cap after start. Slowly pushes water out. Will do a compression test in a little bit. My friend said he would bring a pyrometer by later. Quote Link to comment

Janksun
So basically it idles at the end of the t on the gauge, and when I drive it, it runs at the end of the m. Quote Link to comment

AtomChurch
End of the M is okay. After P, start thinking about why its running that way. But between M and P you are okay. Try a colder thermostat maybe to ease your nerves.. Quote Link to comment
AtomChurch
Have you tried removing the thermostat and seeing if it just stays cold all the time? What temp is your thermostat? Do you even know? Quote Link to comment
Janksun
The thermostat is a 180 degree one. I ran it without the thermostat and still did the same thing. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Sooooo finally got an aftermarket temp sensor installed, and guess what, I've been freaking out over nothing. The motor runs right around 190. The stock temp gauge is way off. Here's what it reads on the freeway The needle is past the p which I've been told is not good. Here's what the aftermarket gauge reads on the freeway. Right around 190 or so. Perfect. So I wrapped up a bunch of little things today and I feel alot more confident on this car making if to canby. Just a few more things and I'll be good to go! New valve seals Valve adjust Make new gauge bezel Make shift hole cover Lower another inch or 2 in the rear And I think that's about it... Random gas station shot The last couple days have been hectic. Ive been working on my dads 2008 dodge ram 2500. His throwout bearing went by by. So we did a clutch job. Hardest time ever getting the transmission back in place. Glad I'm not a mechanic for a living. Shitty cell pics And what's left of the throwout bearing And nice butt on the left there..... 2 Quote Link to comment
