raceneely
411 Freaks, I was on a road trip yesterday and came across a 1965 411 Wagon, in near perfect condition. It was stored in a sea container in the desert for maybe the last 15-20 years. It has a 1200 engine in it that matches the VIN badge. Question is are there any parts for these J12 engines? I assume it is a J12... Quote Link to comment

Tristin
There wasnt a J12, its an E-1. Would love to see some pictures. Quote Link to comment

raceneely
Yes it says E1 on the VIN badge, So WTF is that? impossible to find parts for it? Im thinking of grabbng it. .........but.......... if its too rare im gonna pass... please advise 411 freakies! Neely Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Uh, obviously buy it... Im not a 411 guy, but I assume that the E-1 would be harder to source parts for. I wouldnt care, its still supposedly a nice Datsun so its worth saving. Quote Link to comment
raceneely
Yeah I have too many 411's now so i need to cool it.... Ill turn you guys on to it if I pass. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
keep me posted...... Quote Link to comment
Conner
The E1 engine was also in the 320 truck. Some parts are available in the aftermarket and/or cross over with the J13. The E1 originally was a licensed copy of an MG engine, and some of the still available MG parts will fit. From what I've read, they are pretty bulletproof little motors. If the engine is complete I'm pretty sure you can get it running again. Post some pics of the wagon! Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Legend has it that the unicorns also used the E engine in early Datsun fork lifts, so an inquiry at you local friendly fork lift repair shop might provide some surprise genuine Datsun engine parts. Happy hunting [but not unicorns, they're out of season]. There are a few good fork lift repair shops in the Long Beach area. Quote Link to comment
raceneely
PICS AS PROMISED! This is probably the most complete and corrosion free 411 I have ever found. Well preserved. Digging the radio blank plate. 94K miles only on it too..... 5 Quote Link to comment
raceneely
Are all 411's red or what? seems like it... Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
seems to be a very common color for the model Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Looks great! Glad to see this turn into a real car and not how these types of threads normally end up. Is there a price associate with this car? Quote Link to comment

raceneely
Tristin yep I hear yah..........but the buyer wants to remain anonymous on price and identity, plus his check has not cleared and I don't want to jinx it. LOL Quote Link to comment
