HAM8URGER
So I started the wheel project today. As for the ssr longchamp xr4 wheel hardware, I just removed the old hardware, took it to a local hardware store and matched the threads and specs. The bolts and nuts that were in the wheels are M8x1.25x32. I found that wheelflip.com sells replacement hardware in these specs so I ordered 32 nuts and bolts. I also found that the valve stem holes are not the standard .450 valve holes. They are .40 so now I have to source some replacements that will fit. If anyone knows of where to get those valve stems let me know. These nuts and bolts are pretty rotten Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
Wet sanded all of the curb rash off of the lip edges. It took a while but seriously, you cant even tell that there was ever rash there. Before: After: Quote Link to comment

HAM8URGER
Its hard to get the camera to focus... but I am VERY pleased with the results. NOW to work on the barrels and faces Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
We finally got a day that had above-freezing temps so I worked on the wheels a little bit. Slimed on some standard OTS stripper to get the paint off of the spokes and back of face. 1 Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
I may need to apply this crappy stripper one or two more times to get all of the paint off. Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
I sprayed/scrubbed off the stripper and then I wet sanded one of the wheels with 400 grit for about a half hour to get some of the big blemishes/oxidized areas. Already it is looking way better than the others. Quote Link to comment
jser12
Very nicely done. I'm really impressed. 1 Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
Still needs a few more sands with finer grits then the polish should really bring out a mirror finish Quote Link to comment
HAM8URGER
I have no idea why... But I just bought these Quote Link to comment
