izzo
Man that grille looks tits painted black. passenger fender is almost ready to be taken off. I broke / loosened most the bolts already haha. Might need one of those bolt extractor things. I bought a kit, these work great! http://www.irwin.com/tools/screw-bolt-extractors/9-pc-metric-bolt-extractor-set Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Drove it to concord and back with no issues :D I love this truck. I should probably do a head gasket in the near future lol anybody around ripon ca want to help with that?? Why would you want to??? Quote Link to comment
Janksun
It's leaking oil from between the 2 and 3 spark plugs between the head and the block, and in the front above the water pump as well. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This is the KA-DE? how are you seeing this under the intake? Re torque the head bolts one at a time. Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
Ogre is looking less org-ish Janksun  ;) Was neat to see this running , driving , and living again ! Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Noo it still has the stock L20b in it, my plan is to do a KA swap. I had just thought about re torquing the head bolts about 10 minutes ago. While I'm at it I'll do a valve adjustment. And yeah DTP it's cleaning up, I may have to change the name lol. datzenmike
You may get the leak to stop. Same with the four 10mm bolts around the front of the head that screw into the timing cover. Don't over torque and strip them. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Thanks for the info! I'll do that probably on Monday as I'm out of town for the weekend. Quote Link to comment

Janksun
I think I'm just going to rig up some sort of hood pin because I don't have a welder, or grinder, or anything to do rust repair with. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
These are my hood hinges I also replaced the spark plugs, points, spark plug wires, cool, changed the oil an filter, radiator cap and flushed the radiator. Trying to get ready to go to canby Quote Link to comment

Can ya tell its my first trip up to canby.? Any ways trucks got tons of character and every time you do something it becomes more individual. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Thanks man! It's my first time too. Hopefully it will make it.... Quote Link to comment
denmarkboy
Wholly Crap dude your gonna put some(more) miles on er. That's awesome Well at least its already sporting Oregon plates, and some Orange paint. that things gonna come back to Oregon like an old faithful dog. You already took care of cooling system, which is good cause its gonna be a warm trip . They are forecasting mid 80s here for next week. So as long as the you can keep oil in er should be alright. If your still running points you might want to bring spare set,and fuel pump and filter. It's always easier to swap a part that you already have. You can easily pack enough stuff to cover most common repairs in a small box. If you find yourself needing something(tow truck,shop,etc.etc..) let me know. I pm'd you #. Oh yeah, don't forget: life is a different journey for all of us ! So take lots of pictures ! You can thank me in 20 years! Quote Link to comment
