Major progress today....no not really. Found out the 240sx radiator won't fit, well tomorrow i'll do some cutting to make it fit, stay tuned - should be interesting. People said a clutch fan would not fit with my set up in the S14 - they were wrong. Since i took the EGR off i'm hoping my fix below works.

On to the power steering delete. You basically need to get a new belt, i've heard its 35" with 3 rows. But before any of that the KA24DE has different alternator bracket and thermostat housing than the KA24E. I got a set of both from a KA24E and the alternator bolted up perfectly fine but had to make a surgical incision to get the adjustment bolt in place...basically i cut off the top part and knocked it out with a flathead.

Well i got the car to crank, can am box indicates the ECU and Ignition works but I have no spark at the plugs....going to run through the wiring diagrams may be i overlooked something or have something done incorrectly.

Ladies and gents, i deserve the idiot of the year award. Spark was there all along, i just couldn't see it during the day and i had the fuel pump going the wrong way. Fixed that, then fixed a few fuel leaks, and it fires up and purrs like a kitten.

No! Muffler bearings are in correctly, i dont know what you are talking about. Hahahahahha

On a serious note it has a bog off throttle so i suspect the shitty wiring or the tps. Going to do some soldering and i have some good pics to upload. Harbor freight welder for $100, omg stay tuned for that garbage - you will get a good laugh.

Does harbor freight sell snap on tools.that some good shit i tell ya.

Have no idear but my friend that worked for infinity said they are overpriced and he would rather go with craftsman. Harbor freight has some good stuff, like my engine hoist - $90 flat because it was a return, going to sell this guy once im done.

No bro I have all snap on but it's like tits in your hand.Plus I can't fabricate and so forth but I look good fixing things even if I'm breaking them.Harbor freight is disposable tools but does the job for the money.Come to think of it I need a engine stand for my new FJ20.lol

HAHA. Whatever gets the job done, thats the way i see it. My car is going to stay a bit mickey mouse for now but i'll clean up the wires and the exhaust a bit later, just have to get it running properly first.

On to some more OICs

Harbor Freight $109.99 welder.....will do for now....

Getting the exhaust in place...

And yes we did everything wrong, welder connected with an extension cord, welding under the car, while laying down on cardboard :o

Not much you can do on a 110 volt welder, but the welds seem to hold for now.

This is the temporary exhaust elbow we made to keep my neighbors happy while we sort out the other issues.

My friend Ted (the shitty welder) throwing up the peace sign, LMAO.

Some friends dropped by to laugh at our crappy welding, but we immediately put them to use, by sending them under the car to finish off the exhaust, which resulted in more bird crap welds....

Then i found a possible culprit to my idle issue. TPS wires are bare and hanging on by a thread.

Temp sensor wires are not looking too great either.

Looks like someone tested those sensors with a volt meter at some point.

Unfortunately for me they did it the wrong way. They should have stuck a probe through the pin hole. Its ok i used to do that crap before i learned lol. Either way im going to rebuild the engine at some point.

Well i was thinking of getting some seats but those got sold so the bench seat will stay in for a bit. Trying to figure out the driveshaft and steering issues right now, and find what is causing the bogging. In the mean time Ted got one of these suckers - lucky bastard.

HAHA, i think i know what you are talking about. My friend Ted is better off dead at the moment, his girlfriend's mom is living in the same house and she is throwing a fit about the car being parked in the garage - and the car has not been delivered yet.

Thank you, it's come a long way. Not much left to do except a lot of cleaning up and waiting on parts. I posted a link to a video a few days ago not sure if it's viewable, but sounds awesome!

A small update...

Checked codes:

12 Mass Air Flow Sensor - had this unplugged a few times with engine running thats probably why

13 ECT Sensor - this was unplugged

34 Knock Sensor - took the sensor out it had cracks all over it. Toast.

41 Intake Air Temperature Sensor - had this unplugged a few times with engine running thats probably why

82 Crankshaft Position Sensor - probably throwing code because engine is pulling timing to correct whatever knock sensor is telling it to do.

So after the knock sensor arrives i should be able to track the rest of the issues.

Here is what this guy looked like....

Then on the way to grab dinner I saw this car parked at the BMW dealer across the street from me. I've been waiting for it to show up for about a month now. I personally don't like orange or any kind of stripes on any vehicle but i thought this thing looked quite bitching.

HAHA. I gotta watch that movie again, may be i'll do that tonight since its too windy and cold to work on the datso.

Dropped off the driveshaft today, should be done tomorrow. Idler arms should be done too, so all that is left is just digging around to find the infamous KA rattle and fix the bogging. Also have to put in some fluids etc. I really hope by saturday to have it running so i can test it out a bit before i go in for surgery monday. That surgery will likely put me out for a good 2 weeks so don't hold your breath about any updates.

Once the engine is buttoned up i'll do a bit more work to this thing and keep the pics coming.
