71kat510
Hey guys figured i should start a build thread since my question thread started to turn into one Started off in the nissan game building 240sx's for some fun then i slowly got into the stance scene 16x8 +0 rear 16x8 -10 front then i found a miata and did some work on it my first truely stanced car so im not new to the stance game or fixing up cars but im super new to this datsun game which is way different but on to my project 74 datsun 620 l18 4 speed manual picked up for $900 after a 5 hr drive got it home and unloaded and didnt know if i made a good choice or not its sitting on 3" blocks and removed leaf spring packs in the rear torsion bared down in the front on a set of 16x7 isuzu rims a set of 240sx seats not bolted down or anything cracked dash missing tach custom gas tank that will be replace with a fuel cell so i decided to mock up my sparco last saturday me and some friends went to the shop started to clean up the floors a little rusty that will be fixed Quote Link to comment
71kat510
Me and my friend nik made a seat mount for the sparco all mounted up changed the oil spark plugs replaced the slave cylinder that was in two pieces got a msd blaster 2 coil for free along with a air filter then tonight i started to take care of my rusty floors with a wire wheel that ended up seizing up so i had to switch to a palm sander sprayed the floors with some truck bed liner then i decided to remove my non functioning horns to clean up my engine bay up then i sprayed some primer over the rust spots that were starting to form over the body Quote Link to comment

71kat510
got some new wheels yesterday off craigslist for a $100 then got some 195/60/15 from les schwabb got them bolted up to see how much rolling is needed 15x8 -12ish noticed this in the rear a little rubbin front fits pretty good the rear needs some work bed sits on the tire hence the jack stands looks pretty good overall Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
I see the bushing on ther bottom of the shock ,what about the top. should be rubber on both sides then the washer and lock ring and nut. Quote Link to comment
71kat510
thats what i thought to but according to o reilys theres only one bushing up top asked a local datsun expert and said itd be fine Quote Link to comment

Now you have to make the truck fit the rims instead of the other way round. Quote Link to comment
71kat510
never had stock rims and i like how the fit will look good with flares Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
looking at the shock photo is still not right. You need the lower plate washer on top and bottom to hold the bushing in there and the center(truck). I dont see a washer plate under the bushing. this washer plate should be on the top of the shock then bushing BELIEVE ME!!!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
71kat510
got a photo for reference so i can see how it should be Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I cant post photos on ratsun and wont learn how to but unless the lower washer cap is on top of the shock then the bushing then the truck mount then the bushing the the top washer cap then the lock washer then the nut. as it wear it will get worse ovetime if its wrong Quote Link to comment
