datsun stereo setups?

hello ratsun. im 16 and have a 1976 620 and i was wondering how everyone has put there stereo/radio deck setups in? pictures would help and feedback as well! doesnt have to be a 620 either. Thanks for all the help!

Two 6s in the front, two 6x9s in the back with a 500Watt amp and a Rockford Fosgate 10" slim sub behind the bench.

i like that deck! i was gonna get a alpine and make a shelf for it to be in so i didnt have to cut up my dash bezel. i just bought 5" alpine door speakers today but thanks for the input! how snug is that rockford slim? thanks again!

I have 6x9s in the back.

I used a old radio bezel thing (it was sitting outside in the bed of my dads old truck forever.) and cut the hole out big enough for it and had a piece of aluminum support the back.

A little off topic... but stock speakers in a 620 were 6 inch right?

 

I have some Rockford Fosgate PUNCH speakers and some Polk 4'' sitting around right now.

When I had my 260z I had 6 cylinders of L28 goodness blaring out from under the hood and gauges where the radio should be ;)

Stock speakers in the front are 4" i think or 4 1/2.

sorry guys! the speakers i bought are 4" alpines with a just over 5" speaker cover plate. the stock speakers i believe are 4". Thanks for everyone for the input! keep them coming :rofl:

If you dont have the 620 console you could always pick one up... it has a cutout for a deck in it. That would be way easier to cut up (and replace in the future for whatever reason) than cutting into your dash.

hey tristan ive seen that console but my 620 has a different one that i dont see as often. but im thinkin about getting a consol like that!

Yeah I saw the pictures of your console. Difference could be between years (don't know much about the 620s in particular) or just trim levels. They would be easy to swap out... I've seen a few with the deck cutouts for sale here and Ive seen them in a few trucks at the Lakewood PnP.

Yup, watched it on that 4x4 show on spike, pretty much just gotta splice the 1/8 audio cable into an amp, then out through speakers, sounds simple enough but when I tried it the amp caught on fire, oh well, back to listening to the random 620 rattles.

I hear the classic hot rod guys send their stock radios in somewhere to have them adapted to modern systems like iPods and CD changers.

They retain a 100% stock look and the stocker controls the modern devices.

 that would be cool.  im in the process of making a custom center console with my deck built in and tweeters on the side.  even gonna have cupholders :rofl:   i have 5 1/4 inch alpines in my truck right now and they hit good.  eventually i want to pull out my parcel tray and make a custom box for a 10in slim sub under there. ive seen some people do that since mines not a kc and i have a bench
