wayno
Looks like ice to me, maybe a vacuum leak? Quote Link to comment
LeviGideon
I'm no expert by any means, but that kind of looks like it could be a coolant leak. I replaced a leaky radiator the other day and all the hoses and parts around the leak were that white ashy color. Also, that is a beautiful wagon. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I don't see either valve cover gasses or exhaust gasses causing that. Your fuel line and coolant hoses look in bad shape. I'd check those. Seems like it would be somewhat obvious to find while the motor is running...? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That's a weird color. Do you have green antifreeze? My guess is a coolant leak, probably from one of the hoses. Just today I had to replace one of the heater hoses, but it was a slow leak and left rust colored stains. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
If you have stinky under hood smell its the exhaust blown out. what I do is I feel when car is warning up before the block gets really hot I can feel hot gas come out the bottom around the exhaust manifold Quote Link to comment
erichwaslike
Does it wipe off? Looks like overspray... could be from a problem way back when since you just got it or is it new sinve you got it running? Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Replace the fuel hose from the "tee" to the rear SU inlet fitting. It's spraying gasoline on your valve cover and all in its realm. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That makes sense looking at the photo. Quote Link to comment
