My new 72' Datsun 510 station wagon

So i just bought 72' datsun 510 for $1900 bucks, what do ya'll think about it?

is that a good price? i tried posting pictures but it couldnt create and album.

350 will be tight and heavy. Best bet is the F20C, it has been done before, hell I think the 350 has been done before. I personally would only swap in a Nissan engine, but i like keeping my Cars and engines with the same Manufacturer.

 

I know a few have swapped V6 buicks as well.

Looks clean I would just get another hood, wheels and Lower it and call it good.

 

get tired of it sell it for 3500.

Put chevy 350 in with alot of work/time/moeny then get bored and still sell it for 2500 as it too heavy up front then.

..Rip that scoop off and fill in what ever hole is left ..and you will be amazed at the attention that wagon will get...Chicks dig-um ........Granted they are usually really old women that drove them in high school ,,. :lol:

..And you can do what ever you want to car but if you were putting a huge motor in a tiny car you should start with more of a beater,,IMO ,Cuz your car ( from the pictures ) looks way nicer than mine ..

keep it nissan that is a nice ride minus the god awful hood scoop nice interior

l20b have alot of torque ka24de have alot of torque if you want to go newer style motor

vg is also a great option saw one at canby almost 600 horse power and close to that in torqe

you have many options

it is your car but any motor but nissan :confused:

I wouldn't recommend towing with your 510.. it's light, and the unibody will be prone to distortion. I say you should flip it, and sell it to someone that actually wants a Datsun.

okay, since everybody is pitching their thoughts in on the motor. I wanted a VG for a long time, but unless you are insane, like the guy with the wagon at Canby that made stupid power, a VG won't cut it against an SR or a KA. There is a point where, unless your car is a tube framed behemoth, with something crazy in the rear end to replace the stock stuff, you have just too much power. Because of this, I would stay with a Nissan motor for simplicity... and Nissan motors are sexy.
