metalmonkey47
Anyone ever bought one of these kits before? I'm about to order one, but I'm curious about quality if anyone's ever ordered similar sets before. http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_2883wt_1163 http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1738wt_1163 http://www.ebay.com/itm/5001-5006-ANGEL-HALO-5-3-4-x4-SEAL-BEAM-HEADLIGHTS-/310388256369?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item484494ee71&vxp=mtr#ht_9719wt_1163 I'm leaning towards the first or 3rd kit, purely for the halo's, but I'm not sure how 'quality' these are,,, Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Looking at this and thinking it could be really cool. Total of 4 halo's, could wire high beams (inner lights) to flash with turn signals and outers to come on with running lights. Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
You know my feelings. Those kits look super cheap. First of all, HIDs in those housings, well shouldnt happen (why people complain of HIDs). Look at the last link, the plastic looks like, well crap. 1 Quote Link to comment
DAT510
MM47, Every time I see HIDs on a car, they're on Hondas. I normally think the driver is a douchebag, cause I swear he's doing it on purpose cause I can't see shit when the HIDs are in my face. some HIDs are contained and don't blind other drivers 5 miles away. Those good HIDs are normally on BMWs Quote Link to comment
Npdavies.
Lolol I have those HID's on my Z... Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
If Hella/Bosche/Cibie makes a set i might buy one, But these look cheap.. Ok you buy it and let us see how it looks. Kinda like the double blades wipers that were out in the 90s they used to sell. Looked Cool at the time then went back to stock and said, What was I thinking!!!!!!! then trying to find stock wiper arm blades again. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Alright guys, based on your feedback I've gone back and read into it a little more and found a few more options. All look a little bit better. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOUR-5-3-4-FOUR-H4-BIXENON-HID-CONVERSION-5006-5001-/400177558603?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2c70f44b&vxp=mtr#ht_3198wt_1396 I actually saw a set of these in person tonight on a BMW and I was a little surprised with the quality with 6K HID's. The light output was very directional, not just random beams thrown around. From about 100 feet away at night the light output was bearable and actually easier to deal with then some stock HID's. I don't like the blue daytime running lights though... so I guess we'll see what options I have without it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-3-4-Round-Crystal-Clear-Sealed-Beam-Replacement-Conversion-Headlights-H5006-/300705523139?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46037225c3&vxp=mtr#ht_3028wt_1396 These don't seem to be too cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/H5001-projector-Headlight-w-HID-conversion-kit-10k-/150803719646?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231c9a25de&vxp=mtr#ht_1795wt_1396 Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
Why Don't You Just Get E30 Projectors? Quote Link to comment
bonvo
you know people keep saying the cheap ones are crap mine are the mid level ones i think and there just fine i have h4 bulbs in them there brighter then stock and look good best of all i didnt have to hack my car to shit for them to fit Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Why Don't You Just Get E30 Projectors? It's really about simplicity. I don't want it to look like I had to make it fit, I'd rather it look as if it belongs there. The BMW projectors were always an option though, if i can't find another good set. you know people keep saying the cheap ones are crap mine are the mid level ones i think and there just fine i have h4 bulbs in them there brighter then stock and look good best of all i didnt have to hack my car to shit for them to fit I'm glad you like yours. Did you get them from Ebay? I've seen a few sets of the conversions and had a set for my 210 that was absolute garbage, and these appear to be 10x better. Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
You Don't Have To "Make" It Fit Also OEM Is Better Than Anything Ebay.. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Better fit then I thought. How are they held in? Using the stock retaining ring? OR did they bolt in? Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
You Shave The Headlight Tabs And Trim The Bottom Of The Headlight Dish Flush.. Still Use Stock Headlight Retaining Rings But Make Sure The Headlights Are Horizontally Level Because BMW Lights Don't Have Nipples To Hold It While Screwing It In.. Can Be Done In An Hour With A Grinder :D Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Probably very similar to the write up I did... Go look it up in the How To section. I also give hints on how to wire it... Quote Link to comment
Shagy
FWIW - I sell Auto Pal replacement housings. They are glass and I'm very happy with the beam pattern. Right now I have the 7" in "E" code. I'm out of the 5 3/4. Was going to place an order for some more. They take a H4 bulb. $40/pair. Quote Link to comment
