620 Sealed beam conversions...opinions?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever bought one of these kits before? I'm about to order one, but I'm curious about quality if anyone's ever ordered similar sets before.

I'm leaning towards the first or 3rd kit, purely for the halo's, but I'm not sure how 'quality' these are,,,

MM47,

Every time I see HIDs on a car, they're on Hondas. I normally think the driver is a douchebag, cause I swear he's doing it on purpose cause I can't see shit when the HIDs are in my face. some HIDs are contained and don't blind other drivers 5 miles away.

Those good HIDs are normally on BMWs

Alright guys, based on your feedback I've gone back and read into it a little more and found a few more options. All look a little bit better.

I actually saw a set of these in person tonight on a BMW and I was a little surprised with the quality with 6K HID's. The light output was very directional, not just random beams thrown around. From about 100 feet away at night the light output was bearable and actually easier to deal with then some stock HID's. I don't like the blue daytime running lights though... so I guess we'll see what options I have without it.

These don't seem to be too cheap.

Why Don't You Just Get E30 Projectors?

It's really about simplicity. I don't want it to look like I had to make it fit, I'd rather it look as if it belongs there. The BMW projectors were always an option though, if i can't find another good set.

I'm glad you like yours. Did you get them from Ebay? I've seen a few sets of the conversions and had a set for my 210 that was absolute garbage, and these appear to be 10x better.

You Shave The Headlight Tabs And Trim The Bottom Of The Headlight Dish Flush..

Still Use Stock Headlight Retaining Rings

But Make Sure The Headlights Are Horizontally Level

Because BMW Lights Don't Have Nipples To Hold It While Screwing It In..

Can Be Done In An Hour With A Grinder :D

FWIW - I sell Auto Pal replacement housings. They are glass and I'm very happy with the beam pattern. Right now I have the 7" in "E" code. I'm out of the 5 3/4. Was going to place an order for some more.

They take a H4 bulb. $40/pair.

Can you get me some pictures of the ones you sell? I'm very interested in those if you're satisfied so far.
