Busta Nut
So..... On the way home from San Leandro yesterday my clutch started slipping..... I thought it was strange that it engaged almost all the way at the top....I thought I had the correct sleeve for the trans in there but now I'm having doubts... Parts: -Stage 2 Centerforce clutch - 78-81 z trans? I think -sleeve for said trans -Stock flywheel -Stock slave & clutch master ...any thoughts?? Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Pic of my broken alt. bracket...... ....wonder how long it's gonna last like that  Quote Link to comment

The TO sleeve must match the clutch pressure plate, not the tranny. I'm not absolutely sure, but I suppose when you get a Centerforce clutch, the PP height is the same as the stock clutch you are replacing. So unless you got really lucky and the Z tranny sleeve is the same length as the one for your stock clutch, then you probably have the wrong length sleeve. If you need it, I have a link to a chart of PP heights and sleeve lengths. But I'm guessing you need the sleeve from your stock 4-speed. Maybe someone who knows about Centerforce clutches will post better information. Len Quote Link to comment
rusty12ver
What pp, did you order from Centerforce? 200sx? (l20b?) If the trans has the zx tbc, I think it's too long. I think the fork also has to match. My set up was 200 sx clutch set, 510 fork, with tbc that measured in the "middle" meaning not the 510 collar or the long zx collar, I think I ordered the collar for a 610 from the dealer. I think on eBay there is a luc clutch for a 200sx, with matching tbc. That one is a good clutch and can hold the torque of a decent built l20b. Here ya go :ebay Item #: 221094270164 Quote Link to comment

LenRobertson
Here are the links for TO bearing sleeve and PP heights: http://datsun510.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6979&title=datsun-pressure-plate-comparison&cat=3129 http://datsun510.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6981&title=200mm-clutch-t-2fo-bearing-sleeve-specs&cat=3129 http://datsun510.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6980&title=225mm-and-240mm-clutch-t-2fo-bearing-sleeve-specs&cat=3129 I imagine you can study these pages and figure out if you need a different TO sleeve. I believe someone posted that they were able to get a new sleeve from Nissan, so if you need a different one, that may be quicker than trying to find a used one. Len Quote Link to comment
