dat521gatherer
So I noticed a different style glove box knob on a 520 recently on ebay then a month later I see a vid clip of a corporation or something in the general section with a red datsun 520 having the rare glove box knob. I am sure both were the same year of 1966 or 65. So this must be a early one year or partial year knob. If you have one please post a pic. Also I recently got some parts from a 1966 520 including the dash with a white normal style knob. These must be the early next design with white plastic before they turned black sometime in 1966 or 1967. Anyone have or seen this one? I'm trying to see how common this one is. Quote Link to comment
wayno
It is a little dirty, but unbroken. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Very nice Wayno. What year is this from? I have tons of 521 and 520 pics and never seen one until recently. Great close up I thought they were smooth but I can see in between the lines now. Quote Link to comment

wayno
give ya 5 bucks for it If the "it" is the handle we are talking about here, I wouldn't even sell it for $50.00, it's the only one I have ever seen, and it belongs on my 66 520 project. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Yeah I would say its worth more than a rare locking one. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
All the below are glove box 'knobs'. 68630-14802 glove box lid lock* J13 T series 68630-14804 glove box lid lock J13 T series up to Sept. '66 68630-20500 glove box lid lock T series Oct '66 on. 68630-14803 optional, glove box lid lock J13 T series (with cylinder) 68630-14805 optional glove box lid lock T series (with cylinder) Note some are J13 T series while others are simply T series. The word *lock does not necessarily mean a lock as we know it but more likely a catch to hold it closed. The ones 'with cylinder' would suggest a lock and key. 14802 14803 14804 14805 indicates a slight change as in color of plastic or perhaps metal instead of plastic but the design shape would likely be the same. The big change to 20500 would indicate a radical design change and may be the ones we see most commonly. Quote Link to comment

tdaaj
Dan I've got one of those"rare" white ribbed glove box knobs. It came off my early 66 520 I parted out years ago. I've also had one of the reguler white ones too but sold it years ago, think I got $25 for it. The early 66 is harder to find though, part of a year only. Quote Link to comment
copydat
I got a chrome one with lock & key from Dett. Yet to be installed. Quote Link to comment
