jrock4224
for what its worth ... its still better hen double falir stock 521 ones for a disc swap... it would have been faster and not so short if i did too......factory ones kept splittiing... i bet the stainless ones look bad ass though Quote Link to comment
dennis
P.S. stainless steel lines are a PAIN IN THE ASS to bend.... not if you have the right bender....duhhh!!!! LOL, I have the Ridgid 400 series 3/8" bender. Makes easy work out of stainless tubing. Kind of sucks that you have to pay that much for one bender and I still have to buy a 1/4" for my brakes when I convert to JIC/AN 37* flares. I also bought the Ridgid 41162 Ratcheting 37* flaring tool. That was an expensive bastard. Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
that was my toss up ... spend three hundered on a good flairing tool or practice till i get good with the parts store special... Quote Link to comment
Topher88
I bent all my lines with a little hand bender then took my lines to the shop I got my braided lines from and they flared them for $2 a flare. Well worth it I think. It's not like I'm flaring lines all the time Quote Link to comment
Dirttrack510
Damn! It took me a couple hours to read through third build, but damn! This build is EPIC! Now it's got me wanting to do an SR.... If only I had the funds.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Topher88
New guages installed. Really easy thanks to rpowell! When we were building the IC piping we didn't really acomidate for the alternator being so big so it was a pain in the ass finding one the was small enough and a 17mm x 932mm is the smallest you can possible fit. The next couple days off i should be able to get some stuff done :) Quote Link to comment

Amen brother, when you do builds like Johns and Tophers get ready to drop some serious money. I am in the hole for 17k so far and I still have a ways to go. 1 Quote Link to comment
aintnobiscuit
^^^ I'm at about 20k too. I stopped counting last month. I just have a book of receipts i'll tally up some day when i don't think i'll vomit at the sight of the price tag. I still have no interior, some fab work that needs to be done and nothing is painted. I plan on changing turbos and need 1 or 2 more dyno sessions. Shit gets expensive quick LULZ 1 Quote Link to comment
Cmac
I quit counting a long time ago. Quality builds take time and money. Do it once and do it the right way and you will save yourself money in the end. Tophers thread is a good example of a quality build that takes time and $ to complete. Keep up the great work Topher ! 1 Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
And Corey Pipes up! WTF dude, where you been? No updates on your threads in a while! I miss all the parts porn! Now Corey is also a fine example of a quality build!! But TSR parts are astronomically expansive! All you Southern Cal guys hate my car cause it used to be owned by a hack. Hahaha It's coming along and hopefully grabs a new name for itself after it's done. Quote Link to comment
Topher88
my motto that i live by is do it right the first time. im with all of the guys above me. it cost way more than i thought it would. i just passed the 20k mark. and i still have way more i need to put into it... i normally dont tell people how much i have into it but among friends here that need a realistic number to work with then there it is. its not cheap but well worth it in the end. i just cant wait to drive the damn thing.... bored 1 Quote Link to comment
