Horrible Tire Bite!!!

this bite is getting worse as it is SLICING my tire some new tread designs!!! Its sliced it almost all the way through the tread depth!! so much that i do not think it is safe to drive anymore, so it sits until its fixed! I need to figure out something to stop this from happening ASAP and ACAP!! (as cheap as possible), i was thinking of pushing the flare out more with some kind of brace bar welded in the trunk??

Either sawzall out the fender for more clearance or get wheels that don't stick so far out, at least until you can put bigger flares on. Rolling the lip would help a bit.

I see 4 viable options. 1. Trim the flare down 2. Run a stiffer spring in the rear 3. raise the rear end up 4. change your tire/rim combo to fit inside the flare.

less offset..taller bump stops, or my personal favorite..a bat and roll them out, but I would change the offset first, change the rims.

I'd say get some zg flares and raise them up just enough that you wont bump it.

like trimming the flare way up then covering it with the zg flares???

Im pretty sure he likes the wheels too, and so do many others. A very cheap fix until you have more money would be to make a bump stop that wont let the fender and tire to touch. That will make the car drivable. With more money you can move the fender location and flare it out more, or change the flares. ZG flares I believe cut out more on the body? but would also mean more travel distance.

Got it,I run ZG's on my race car (now), an easy way to go.

Form, (tires and rims in this case) were selected for their looks, availability or cost without considering their ultimate function. (clearance on a flexing suspension in this case). Form should always be secondary to function lest function be compromised.

I did actually follow the rule of functionality. my drivers side flare clears perfectly Hellaflush!, its the passenger side flare that was put on after getting the wheels that doesnt stick out as much i dont know why..

Just out of curiosity what offset are those rims ? it looks like you already have some sort of flaring done and its not even close to fitting.

rear has 2" backspacing. which is a -51mm offset. yes i have the BRE style flaring, which clears those wheel on the drivers side perfectly, but not the passenger side.

Swap rims side to side to see if the problem switches with it.

 

If not, start measuring why the body/flair is offset to one side of the rear axle.
