PM virus Spam by desterman

Some of the other forums have had a rash of spam being sent by PM by a desterman

Thanks! Seems to be alot of that stuff going on lately. "My Friend" got virused thru his Farmville on Facebook! And I heard of a guy that was looking up info on some chevy brke rotors that got hit too!

Do you run the "immunize" after you update the program each time? I usually have no problems found... although I stay off the Asian sites ;)

if you are create a new user accnt with limited access.

 

 

 

and go download malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/

 

you'll have to download and install it in the administrator accnt.

 

 

but that and spybot(x3) should fix you right up.

The other good freebie is SpywareBlaster. However, you can't just install it and forget it. You need to manually run the update at least once a month, though weekly is best.

 

That said, anyone who is STUPID ENOUGH to click on one of those emails or popups deserves whatever happens to them. Stupidity should be painful.

+1 You never know what lurks in an email. I went to an AutoCAD forum a few months back and got a virus that took me out of the drawing game for a while. Sadly, all I was looking for was a shortcut command. Took me 3 days to recoup... :o
