ggzilla
It is an aftermarket key manufacturer It is DA style, which was used by Datsun and Subaru. Your pictures don't show the length, but there are two lengths: Short, original Datsun style circa 1970-1973, but also some newer ones use it Long, used by Datsuns, Nissans 1974-1981, Subaru, and Mazda Cosmo Here are original early 1970s "short" Datsun keys (Voss Type) Short and long keys interchange. athoose
If you know the make and model of your car or key you want, just call nissan for the blank. Also if your car has a key code in the glovebox they can use that to cut a new key, this actually makes for a better fit as opposed to using the old/worn key to match. One thing I was wondering but haven't checked is if the 4 digit code on keys is the same code for cutting. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
"Liberty 281-0996" is the name and phone number of the locksmith that made the key. Liberty Lock and Key, San Diego, CA. They're still in business, with the same phone number. Even I remember 7-digit phone numbers being common on advertising. http://411.sandiego.com/liberty+lock+key.9.1290036p.home.html Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
just call nissan for the blankThe problem is that Nissan no longer the original style key blanks. You'll end up with genuine Nissan, but they won't look like the older ones. You can get the genuine old style Nissan new old stock from time to time on eBay. That's where I bought mine in the photo.
