Slammy
Is posting non datsun stuff ok? If not i will delete this but some of the guys said they wanted to see my other work. Here is what came in after the 620 left. Havent bagged one since around 99-00 so this will be fun. Its on 18 and 20 inch Coys, owner had already made all raised crossmembers for it. I spent today tearing it down and looking at much of a bitch keeping the chassis tech beams are gonna be. Always ran dream beams before and the other trucks were all 4 cylinders, this one is a v6 5 speed. Then i realized how much of a pain in the ass keeping the beams was gonna be, one issue was the passenger beam hit the oil pan real early and there were other issues. So we decided to just clip the damn thing, what i suggested at first anyways. Yotas have the same bolt pattern, frame is an inch narrower and the track width is an inch narrower so its a good match. yello620
Slammy, I am happy to see your work even if it is not Datsun. We just might get an idea that works on a Datsun. I generally like most makes of vehicles when i can see that they are not stock and when the owner treats it to the custom side of things. However, most of us only have so much time in the day to look at the internet and forums/pictures. I choose to spent my time looking at Ratsun, so i miss out on most of the other brands of vehicles. So i welcome the fact that you are taking your time to write up a storry and take pictures of your projects to share.:) Like was already mentioned, The Non-Datsun section is the spot for it.:D Ohh, and Thats going to be a lot of work, but the right decision to clip it. Will be cool when done. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
Great job on the 'Yota front clip! Quote Link to comment
Slammy
Well this is what i came up with. Honestly im not 100% happy with how it looks but the two frames are so different, its difficult to get them to flow together decently. I basically pinched the ranger frame in to the yota clip. The toyota was an inch narrower overall so half inch a side, easy to do. It was welded on the inside before i capped the frame off plus i cut holes in it for more weld area, i dont think its going anywhere. Capping the inside off was a total bitch trying to get in there and weld. Quote Link to comment
yello620
Slammy, that turned out pretty darn good for how different the two frames are to work with. Thanks for sharing.:D Quote Link to comment

Slammy
Might think ive been sleeping but ive had another round of mechanic work to do. Anyways, heres what i did for motor mounts on this thing. Evolved into this, started as something simplier but i wanted the tabs welded to the frame rails and not just the weak part of the crossmember if i had just ran them straight down. Motor is a complete pain the ass also, totally different from side to side and the damn thing is offset to the pass side big time, effin 2.9! Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
effin 2.9! All the power of a 2.3 with the economy of a 4.0:lol: Looks good. Quote Link to comment
yello620
Those are some very nice looking motor mounts.:D What bushings are you using in them? Quote Link to comment
Mark_Z28
If I remember right its a German designed engine. They are slow but run forever. I always hated twin I beams, torsion bars are not much better though. Quote Link to comment

Slammy
The problem First solution, typical yota bag setup using 2500s. Lift=suxors What would really be the third solution i guess, RE7 stuffed under a mini. Lift=Muy Bueno! Difference from front. Keep in mind the RE7 is probably making the contitech even lower than it should be cause there is such a difference in lift. and this.....this is quite nice....whered that come from... Anyways, back to the sexy truck, you guys dont care about amazingly hot chicks do ya? Quote Link to comment
