I pulled my cowl off again today. I was thinking it was a clogged drain that was causing some flooding into the fresh-air vents, but during my dash restore Ive noticed a couple holes in the well under the cowl. I think it might be a mixture of things so Im going to be patching up those holes with some silicone or something.

Off to Home Depot.

Hit up ATM machine.

(60" Plasma remember?)

Met rig, trucker & her at truckstop.

Led them to the house.

Tried hiding car hard on.

Let trucker do his thing (rams/ramps/etc).

Wouldn't start... long ride.

Told trucker where battery was. Back seat floor passengers side of course.... duh.

Found battery. Tightened terminals. Got jumper box.

Started.

Crossed fingers while trucker did his thing.

No redline this time. ;)

Smiled.

Looked over car. Paid trucker.

Trucker did his thing. I did mine.

Let it warm up more and took it for a sorta slow ride.

Just around the block once.

Rain this morning was snow then turned to wind.

Started to dry and even had some sun.

Short ride... just around the block (big blocks in the country).

Getting to know ya ride. Light on thrash. Some.

Home.

She was filthy. Spent last week getting 1000 miles of road grime and muck and being dripped on by rude upstairs neighbor on the way.

Washed it. Hosed wheel wells and tires a bit and sponge bathed the rest.

purdy er

Ride #2...

Short. 300 yards.

3 point turn, returned home.

Took van to town to get some gas. 93 grade.

Ride #3...

Download GPS Speedo app.

Remember to put gas in it.

(no broken nails)

Warm up. Go.

Went.

Harder this time. 1 mile in I thought seat belts/5 point harness would be wise.

It was. Tight.

Romped it. Again.

Around more blocks loud and fast... still easy yet.

Still getting to know her.

Screamed past my house.

3 point turn. Screamed back home.

Blipped it a bit in the gravel... left a mark... two of'um.

Breathed. Couldn't get smile off my face. Thought I needed to check/clean shorts.

Didn't.

Cool down. Parked in garage. Test fit Harley behind her.

Perfect fit. Rather sell Harley.

Need insurance registration etc etc.

Spent some time pulling my old carpet and sound deadener out in prep for new deadener and carpet. Fronts pans are done now I just need to do the rear and tranny tunnel. The good thing is that the floors underneath are nice and solid - just some surface rust.

Troubleshat, installed, researched, uninstalled, validated, redownloaded Windows Virtual XP Mode, Haltech Software and USB to serial drivers etc etc etc.

Connected to, downloaded and saved the EX6's EEPROM data.

Walked away.

(first do no harm)

Walked back.

Cleaned up/detailed/dusted/stared at/felt up/investigated engine bay.

(still getting to know her).

Disconnected battery/reconnected battery... Many times. Not in that order.

Tightened up lots of loose electrical connections.

Starter hot side, fuel pump both sides, soldered new end here and there, routed back up light cable.

"insulated" fuel pump and mounting bolts. Little better. Still loud.

Checked fuel filter.

Looked felt some more.

I picked up a set of 14" slotted mags from a guy up in BC and started the fun process of getting them ready to have tires mounted. There is a lot of oxidation/vegetation on them but the couple I've gotten done turned out pretty good.

Had to make my own homemade "ball bearing".

and I do believe my lack of lowbeams is in that darn turn signal / dimmer stalk.

I'm on the hunt.

Waiting on GPS Speedo too.

It's "out for delivery".

It's rainy... good day for electrical spaghetti trouble shootin.
