1965 datsun bluebird wagon (restoring)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I have a 1965 datsun bluebird wagon with 30,000 miles on it.

it was parked by my dad for months at a time while he drove trucks cross country.

I did not know the car was still around till my dad died and was given this car

by my mom.

would love to restore it but do not know where to start.

nissan just looks at me funny and says this car does not exist?

it had not been startted for twenty years until i got it and only took

about twenty minutes to get it started as my dad had drained all the fuel out when he parked it.

i need to find windsheild wiper arms for this because someone stole them off the front of the car. anybody know where i can get advise on parts lookup

without being laughed at?:)

thanks for any help in advance

p.s. i do remember riding in this car when i was only a little boy and it has been in the family since new but have never seen another one just like it.

Sad but true. Nissan [obviously at Renault's suggestion] deleted all our old 410 and 411 records. When the dealer types in 410 or 411 the Nissan software returns "Volkswagen". The Variant, that is. Datsun [not Volkswagen] 410, 411 or even 520 and maybe 521 parts should either fit or can be "persuaded" to fit.

You should have an E1 eng in it. If you tell the parts store that you have a '68 521 with the J13 in it, you'll be able to get water pump, fuel pump, gaskets. :)

Considering the interchangability of Datsun parts.....there's a really good chance the 320 arms will work.

Looking forward to pics!!!
