Well if you didn't roll that edge for rigidity, you can still either roll it on the car or weld a 3/4"x1/8" strip behind it to keep it from flapping in the wind so o speak. you can also include a brace/gusset from the Gas tank mount bolt to this strip and it should be really solid. you'll have to redo part of your primer, but that's no big compared to redoing seams and paint after it's vibrated your bondo loose. it looks really good. if I had an old tailgate I might consider that for shaving my tail.
