We(My Brother-in-law and I) are going to see about making one. We're planning on jacking the transmission up into the tunnel and measuring it all out then cutting and welding a crossmember together. I wasn't aware he could do metal work until last night :lol:

Why do I need to use my old pickup and oil pan if it's an L16 that I'm swapping in? I don't know exactly what's wrong with it. Something with the valves I'm assuming. Do you want to buy it from me then, Mr. Debbie Downer? Feel free to come and get it if you think it could go to a better home. It's an L16. replacing an L16. I've got all the clutch, t/o bearing, clutch cover, etc... sitting in my garage.

They don't have any in stock and won't for awhile. Already tried :(

My main concern is my 5-speed. I don't have a crossmember for it, nor do I know if it's in good condition.

So I've had this 510 for a bit over a year. It was running for awhile but then the engine crapped out on me. So I bought a new one from bagged_datsun. It's the same one Aaron(phleb) had rebuilt for his truck. Anyway I got the engine today and Aaron asked I show some pics so he can see his baby back in action. So from here on I'll be trying to keep an updated log of the install. It SHOULD be easy, but I'm no good at mechanical stuff and have never done this before. Wish me luck :fu: For those who are interested, here's the link to my project thread on the510realm. Updated up until the engine died. To start, here's the engine just after I got it today. Pulling the old motor starts Saturday. Maybe Friday after work :)

KA24e is like 140ish? I know the KA24DE out of a 240 is ~150, so the sohc has to be a bit lower. KAs live forever. The one in my '95 Altima had 240kish on it before the throttle got jammed open and I blew a rod.

I was speaking to him about a prototype xmember he had made for a dogleg transmission on a 510. He said he had it on his car and was going to sell it to me to see if it worked on other people's cars. I was all excited to buy it and help him out and he stopped talking to me :(

How goes the xmember for the dogleg that you made? I still want to buy it! :P

What modding does the xmember need? I've talked to a few people who have said different things. A few people who are selling custom xmembers but no one who will actually SELL me one. Do you, or anyone, have pictures of a crossmember that will work with a dogleg next to a normal 4speed one?

I have a similar issue so I didn't want to start a new thread. I've got a dogleg 5-speed and the shifter is really loose/wobbley, how do I tighten that up?

My roommate got a brand new Craftsman 100piece tool set for christmas, plastic wrapped and all, opened it up and in the spot where the biggest open end standard wrench should be, was a 10mm Cobalt open end wrench. How does that happen?
