  1. It pinches a little bit because of hood clearance, but not enough to restrict air flow or pinch enough to put any cracks in the tubing. Smooshes the intake pipe by like 1/2 inch. Ended up being like $35 for the tube and filter from Auto Zone. and $.75 for the clamp from Lowe's
  2. I wish GT4 was out on PC :( Consoles make me want to stab people.
  3. Why couldn't you sell it earlier? :( I'm poor now!
  4. 1972 Skyline GT By far my favorite looking Skyline. Not the GT-R With the S20 :( But it's got a 3.1L L-series
  5. I think the GT-Rs had an S20. I think even just being a 2.0 they still put out more power than the L24s. 170hp I think. I'd still have one if I could afford it hah.
  6. o.o I'm glad I didn't try and mug you as payment for fixing my linkage.
  7. Here's the 510 one. Did some looking and it looks like this is the Neo-510 concept. http://www.s-e-design.com/sedesign_115.htm A third Edit: The goon looks sweet
  8. Pics or it didn't happen. I recall seeing a concept 510 that someone drew for a college class for Nissan or somesuch awhile back. It's occasionally one of the banners on the510realm. It's quite sexy.

    my new find

Move to Utah. I need someone out here that's into Datsuns to hang out with. I'd like to see where this project goes though! The more Zs I see the more I want one.
  10. As far as I understand it's a mix between Rat Rod and Datsun. Most users cars seem to be a mix of both, hence Ratsun?
  11. The adapter they have at Checker is a cheap plastic piece specifically made for their cheap plastic Spectre intakes. It doesn't even fit on my carb. I'm going to try that flex pipe they're selling and hope it stretches. Thanks for the pics guys :)
  12. Selling or buying? Need more info. Probably put this in the Datsun Parts Wanted/For Sale forums.
  13. My Hitachi idles really high too. It idled really low after my oil change, to the point where it would stall if I didnt give it gas, but now it's back up to 1500+RPM idle. I've got one wire that isnt connected to anything because the carb is off of a later model car that had emissions stuff and my '71 L16 didnt have any. Could that be the problem? It's not the idle cut switch, or the electric choke(which also isnt hooked up)
  14. I can't afford a Weber ATM. I used to have a side draft on it but I couldn't get the car to run right with it so I switched to this carb.
  15. If there is a prettier way of using that carb but running a different filter system, I'll do it. The stock air cleaner is horrid and has lots of hoses hanging off of it that aren't in use.
  16. I've got the stock air cleaner for my carb. It's a Hitachi carb off of an L20b but it's on my L16 powered 510. Anyway, there seems to be something missing from the neck of my air cleaner and it doesn't fit the neck of my carb. I can just set it on the carb but it rattles and I assume it lets quite a bit of unfiltered air slip by. I went to Autozone and Checker to see if there were any aftermarket setups I could use. I ended up buying a filter assembly, then had to spend more money on the 3 1/16" adapter, then more on the bolts, and none of it fit. The neck on the carb seems to be around 3" but it still wouldnt fit over. They also have some 3" flexible pipe that I could attach to the carb then run to a cone filter but I dont want to risk it not fitting over the carb neck. The only idea friends/family could come up with was dryer tubing clamped over the neck then run to a cone filter and clamped. The same as the flex pipe but a bit more ratsun in style I suppose :P Downside to that is it looks a bit...yeah, and also it's 3" exactly and I dont think would fit over the 3" carb. Anyone have some ideas?
  17. http://www.vulcantire.com/cgi-bin/tiresearch.cgi?stock=850&f=ze912hp_t.htm What's your take on Falken? I had some on my old wheels but never had a chance to really drive on them.
  18. Please do. Even if I can get something that fits better. My tires seem a bit too big.
  19. So on a 280zx 5star wheel, they're like...14x6 right? What size tire would I need for a mild but noticable stretch?
