Correction. The factory one has a c-clip holding the plate on and my home made one has a washer and a screw drilled and tapped into the center because the knub after the c-clip grove was broke off. Hope that made sense. :blink:

Does your fuel door lock have the little nub for the screw and c-clip on the back? If so you can make the little flap piece that turns. I had to make my own on the red door you see. It didn't turn out perfect but enough to work. I used a dremel to cut the outside and a drill bit rocking it side to side to make a oval hole or a hole with 2 straight sides. Bottom one is home made and top is factory. :D

Wow!! I met your dad a few times and really liked him. I bought a truck bed from him. I also bought a engine from him a few months before he passed and I use that engine in my red 521 everyday. Even though we didn't have a chance to know each other that long something about paul touched me as someone who I could become great friends with. When he passed I cried and was too upset to go to his funeral. I'm sorry for your loss. My dad passed 5 years ago and my mom passed less than a month ago. I haven't but if you get them let us know how good they look up close. If your housings aren't rusted through you can have them bead blasted for $15 and then paint them with silver paint for the reflective properties. Someone did something similar in their build thread and a scotch bright pad to their lenses to scuff them and clear coated them and they turned out really great. I'll see if I can find it.

Sweet. Welcome to the greatest datsun site ever. Now how about some interior pics. The first thing I'm generally interested in knowing is if you have the locking fuel door or locking glove box. And the clock, and the original tailgate chains. I see you have the original fuse box cover and your missing the wiper bag. Do you have the jack or tool bag? Super rare red hazard knob? 521"s rule!!!!

Very nice truck and welcome to the best datsun site ever!! There are 4 cab perch's that have a 4 inch round metal sandwich with rubber in the center that may be missing on your rear left perch. see pic.

I may have one, I'll look.

I've never seen 521 door panels with trim on them at least in the u.s. and I've seen hundreds. Nice pair.
