Yeah a little lube and start at the bottom and tuck them with a very small flat tip without puncturing them. My problem with them is they crack within a year or two if I remember.

Very nice truck. I notice you have the super rare one year only glovebox knob. It might have been available for less than a year. Hard to tell but it looks like original tailgate chains.

I had a similar problem with our 79 corona alt. Oriellys sold me a external regulator alt when I needed a internal regulator alt. I ended up eating the cost for waiting too long. Went to napa and got the correct one. Now it works. The guy at the counter of Oriellys assured me the alt he sold me had a reg on the inside. There was no visible reg on the outside of the alt. That was a red flag for me but I trusted him anyway. Lesson learned.

I had a few leaks I couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Ended up being the roof so I stripped it down and put some seam sealer all around it.

Had to get another fuel pump because this can style was rubbing up on my cam sprocket.

Daves passing has upset me real bad to the point that it's really hard to even say anything. I wasn't that close to him but he made a special impression on me that only a unique person like him can do. He texted me last month and said he was trying to stay positive about things and I said we should hang out sometime. He said "promise" and I said yup. Well that never happened and I have felt terribly guilty for it. I met him about 7 years ago or so. He drove down and picked up a engine from Bill down in elma for my daughters 75 b210 which I still have. He threw it in the back of his goon drove it to my house and helped me install it. Dave was always willing to help someone in need. R.I.P Brother.
