I have a couple questions for you before I can give you a solid answer... 1. Why are you dead set on S30 or Z31? both being independent rear suspension which isn't preferable at a dragstrip and you said thats what you are most concerned with... 2. Why not go for a car thats already small block ready and better suited for what you want to do (drag race)? 3. You haven't even bought a car yet, and you are already planning to build the stock engine till it blows? then swap to LS, why not go straight to the finish line?

I really like what I just read, I approve of everything said. I don't know how satisfied you are with your night vision but my car came with one high beam replaced with a aircraft landing light. Super bright, still incandecent and looks normal on the otherwise stock front end.

the shifter is to far forward...

I have a question, my brother and I swap and L28 along with a 1983 zx 5 speed into his 1970 240z. It almost fits perfect except for the shifter location, he had to notch the shifter hole so he could raise the transmission high enough to get the trans mount to line up. Now he is at a point where he is trying to install his center console and its a no go. Is there a different transmission he needs to be using? I know there are long tail and short tail trannys but I thought all z transmissions were long tail. Thanks for any help
