What year car are you even talking about .?? Is the engine in a 510 or a 200sx .? Try running a ground and positive straight from battery to pump , ( speaker wire works good ) ,so to go around any relays or bad wiring if it works it could be a fuse, relay or mouse eaten wiring. This car is the first car he has " owned " that he actually paid anything other than licence fees ..The bronco II he drove while on his learners permit till a couple weeks before school started ( threw rod ) was free.. And the 85 celica he got free about a week later and drove till a couple weeks ago,, Had been sitting in a shed for 3 or 4 years because nothing worked normally . ( toggle switches for lights even ) because of rust. So like you he savors even the simplest things ,,like a radio that plays music, headlights that dont just stop working cuz the wire fell off battery,,and a speedometer that reads close to correct and not vary-ing speeds of wrong.. :lol: And he hasn`t even had his license for a whole year yet..

For Pete`s sake someone take a fricken camera to this and take me some pictures of some old school fat tired Toyotas for mah boy.. ,...Cuz his engine hauler needs a face lift and daddy needs some id-ears.

In would find another assembly that one is pretty messed up and will only give you heartache on the side of the road. Especially if rocker sticks the valve open somehow. But keep the ol` head up and it`ll come around ,
