  1. Forgot to text you back earlier, are you building a full exo-cage?
  2. Yup! That tranny sure will. It's the same I have in my truck. Only around an 18% over drive because it's a close ratio box. With my 205/50's I was doing 70 @ 3500
  3. Under thje bed if I can get the high ton to work, if not they'll go onto something else.
  4. How long is the new transmission? If it's a FS5W71B 5 speed it should measure about 31.5''. Interesting.. I've never heard of a 620 having a shortie 4 speed. I thought that was 521's, and cars but I could be mistaken.
  5. No one posted in this thread for 4 years, and you joined the forum just to revive it? :poke:
  6. So I went to an antique shop just walking around (been in and out of there a lot. They're huge) and walked past these... They're old twin trumpet horns, aging somewhere between 1920-50. Everything I've seen suggests around the 30's, but there's a possibility its later then that. The low tone works great. The high tone trumpet has an internal short and works, but very intermittent. I don't want to burn it up so I'm thinking of dissecting it to see how it looks inside. The wire jacketing has fallen apart on both trumpets so I peeled it all off and covered the wireing in nice heat shrink tubing. After cleaning them up with a wire brush, they came out VERY nice. _DSC0142 by metalmonkey47, on Flickr _DSC0146 by metalmonkey47, on Flickr _DSC0152 by metalmonkey47, on Flickr I need to find a diagram for the 6V GM relay that it came with. I don't want to blow it up if it's any good. If I can get them both working 100%, I'll wire them in a series and run them on the truck. If not, I'll donate them to a rat rod project that's starting up. I also have finished repainting one of my two fender badges.
  7. Awesome Jun! Glad to see you represent the goon squad on JNC!
  8. Looks good! You can fit a lot of stuff off of earlier models, but your truck has a lot of better stuff that the earlier ones didn't. Disk brakes, electronic ignition, etc. I have a spare grill if you'd like it! I bought it, but my early model grill looks better
  9. Welcome! I'm up around the ATL area with about 3 other 620 owners. I don't think there are any your way at the moment.
  10. Hmmm then and now. Sad. Cool history though.
  11. Dunno, but I don't think the sum of the parts in those pictures is anywhere close to $500
  12. Welcome! Post oics when you get them. We're a very picture hungry site.
  13. Does it cut out at higher RPMs? I was cruisin down the interstate in my 620 and it started cutting out anywhere above idle.. I pulled over, grabbed some tools, and opened the carb to find something stuck in the jet. Not likely your issue, just a suggestion. Sounds like a fuel issue. Like Mike said, start with the fuel filter.
  14. I'd rock an A10. it's a 210 with a better drivetrain.
  15. You're going to end up spending probably the same or very close if anyone was to find tie rod ends. I've got plenty of l&r hand threaded tie rods at work, just no time to measure.
  16. Always wondered for myself. I've thought about pulling mine in the Autozone parking lot and taking them in with my digital caliper. I'm sure you could probably find some tie rod ends that share the same thread pitch as the center link, but the concern would probably be the tapered rod that the nut goes on.
  17. I'm have a Weber without a heat riser, and an emissions-free L18 intake manifold. I also have a high-rise steel carb adapter that I need to check. I've look with brake parts cleaner for vacuum leaks before, but something tells me I might have a slight leak around the base.
  18. So I finally got around to plug gam. I just bought a new set of plugs (as cheap as they are) and ran the .40 gap since that's what the stock matchbox L20B plug gap is factory and it runs the same.I found a small vacuum leak but sealing it didn't make any difference at all. I haven't had a chance to get the jets out yet to check sizes, so I'll probably be busy doing that Saturday. I'm gonna put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator tomorrow, since that helped last winter. I've been thinking a lot about it lately, and I feel like I'm losing power somewhere. I drove a 109HP Versa that felt like a GTR compared to my truck. My truck has always been a little 'funny' in the way it runs, it's just worse when cold. When it's up to temp it's okay for the most part. But when outside air temps are really low it tends to stumble a lot even when it's up to 190 degrees,
  19. I think my trucks loosing power. I drove a 2013 Versa with 109HP that weighs more then my truck that has 112 HP.

Your car does not have 112hp...

My Car which ways 1000lbs less than my Jetta, has finally matched performance, which has 115hp.
