  1. Check your fuses. Check voltage at - terminal of the coil. Should read about 9 volts (IIRC.) If you pull the cap and have someone turn the key, do you see any sparking at the points?
  2. Is it a reman unit? Any kind of tags on it indicating aftermarket status? Just curious... if so I'd suspect it. Could be a load of other parts, but with my experience with these kinds of problems, I always like to look into the simplest parts..
  3. Have it load tested when warm. Also, at the same time have the starter current tested. I have seen the fail a few times when warm, but absolutly fine when cold. Lastly, check the condition of battery cables and replace if necessary.
  4. yeah, I gotta clean it up, but JB weld is the shitttt. BTW, when you have bieber hair, 1/2 drive tools, always wear safety glasses. Those guys are heavy and leave mean marks on your face.
  5. L20B, side drafts, 5 speed and you're cherry.
  6. Found this when crawling under the truck to remove the cross brace and drop the oil pan (for the gasket.) It's on the timing cover just next to the oil pump below the crank. I've had no issues, but I'm pretty confident that the timing chain must have broken in the past and damaged it... :( I just gave away my spare timing cover too.
  7. Is the carb spraying fuel when the throttle is opened? (Should see this from the accelerator pump) Do you have spark? Have you run a compression test? It can be any number of things but step one is verifying whether it's spark/fuel/compression related.
  8. Can the crossmember that bolts under the oilpan to the control arms on a 620 be removed without issues?

  9. I wish that was my mom's Kia. I'd drive the hell out of one of those. Until I broke it.
  10. Hmm always thought about that. Mike explained it a while back, but I never bookmarked it. Wonder if I can find it
  11. So you've physically used the POR15 tank liner kits? How well is it with tiny pin holes? My biggest concern is long term. If it works for a few years and screws me in the ass, it's not really what I wanna get into. I need a more perminant solution.
  12. I'm not looking to line the inside of the tank. I've had bad experiences with that stuff before and I'm not gonna want to play with it again. For the price, I might as well take it somewhere to be professionally repaired. I'm gonna be ordering some POR15 anyways, so I'm curious about how it would work.
  13. Just curious how compatible this stuff is with gas? A few months back I tried to repair a small pin hole in my gas tank with JB stick, but it seeps. What i was thinking of doing as a more permanent solution is to full it 1/4 with pea gravel, shake it around a good bit to knock out any sediment and tear any rust out, flush it with some harsh chemicals, and coat the outside of the tank with POR15. I figure as long as I keep gas in the tank, it shouldn't rust again. If the POR15 resists fuel, it would seal the exterior of the tank and stop any leakage. I've never used POR15 before so I'm looking for an excuse to use it. I think this would be a good trial run. Input?
  14. Got any pics of it? I know this long tube would work out well with your B310 build! If you go L series that is
  15. Like the topic says, long tube header for an L20B for sale. I'd really like to trade for a shorty if someone has one laying around. This one has ZERO run time on it and has never been mounted as far as I can tell. It's got matching flanges, gaskets, hardware and reducers for 2'' exhaust. Will NOT fit a 620 without moving torsion bars and motor mount. I don't want to screw with that so I'm selling it off. Since I'm really looking to trade and have to price it, it's priced $200 OBO +shipping.
  16. Go get one from Nissan. I use the 192. Payer 20 bux for it
  17. Stupid aftermarket parts. Gawddamnit.

  18. I'll trade you the manifold for a bag setup Seriously, I'll give the manifold to you if I can get this stupid header to mount.
  19. damndamndamn I was thinking about that.... mis-information is a bitch! Guess I'm gonna go work out a new solution for this PITA. I was told that the header was for the truck, since it wouldn't clear the steering box on the cars. Maybe it was backwards thought.
  20. How have you guys gotten around them? I'm trying to get mine together now, but trying to fit the header I've found no way to force the header down under the truck. About the only way I've found that the header is going to fit is if I pull the torsion bar and mount the header first. The collector is almost too wide to even fit between the engine and the frame I know what you're gonna say. The header won't make any more power on such a stock L20B. Wellllll, sometime in the near future I'd like to see SU's and a cam. I got this one for free, so I'd like to use it if possible.
